GOP Debate: Paul Rebuked for Anti-War Stance, Brownback Booed For Anti-Gay Stance

Although he was applauded by the audience at Wednesday's University of New Hampshire debate, other GOP candidates sharply rejected Ron Paul's warning that the Iraq War would drag their party down to defeat in 2008.

"Even if we lose elections, we should not lose our honor," shot back former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, "and that is more important to the Republican Party."

Brownback also drew boos from the audience when he called for passage of a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. "I understand there is a divided audience," he said.

He may have horrible ideas, but he comes out and says, "These are my horrible ideas, these are why I support them, and I'm going to stand behind them no matter what." Few in our party have such conviction. Fewer still in theirs.

I assumed, since he IS Libertarian, that even though he might personally be anti-choice (maybe from his being a OB/GYN?) but would support a woman's right to choose. Should I not have assumed that?

I'd be surprised if he viewed it as a Fed issue instead of a State issue.
