However, the guy makes a valid point, in my opinion.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marty-kaplan/if-only-doug-feith-had-bi_b_40823.html

<snip>
If Doug Feith looked like a Courtney Love's bad dream of Marilyn Monroe, would the cable "news" networks clear their schedules when evidence of his manipulation of pre-war intelligence hit the wires? If "the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth," as Gen. Tommy Franks called Feith, were a now-dead Playmate, would Wolf go wall-to-wall with the story of the neocon Fifth Column within the Pentagon?
What would it take for "Today" to pay as much attention to the silent coup that lied us into Iraq -- Wolfowitz in a platinum wig? Perle in a paternity suit? Cheney in methadone rehab a diaper? MSM: RIP.

2. I don't even know who this guy is but I heard him on the radio (CNN)
today and he's obviously a Bush/neocon shill to the end, and he was so OBVIOUSLY lying and so obviously on the defensive. He sounded outright scared and full of shit.

Courage, in fact, to take a DU policy he doesn't like and try to do something about it.

6. I wrote CNN and gave them a piece of my mind. I don't have much
to give, but I did it anyway. I questioned their priorities. Why is she more important than the release of the OSP report.

I told them that we already have one Fox News, we don't need another.

on the Anna Nicole coverage. They were talking about the heavy snows in NY. They asked if it was from global warming and he said either than or Anna Nicole's death.

to hear the science guy make his remark. the format was ANS, news item, commercial, ANS, news item, commercial. On and on and on.

9. everyone should read Manufacturing Consent...
http://www.amazon.com/Manufacturing-Consent-Political-Economy-Media/dp/0375714499/sr=1-1/qid=1171086280/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-3737259-2399113?ie=UTF8&s=books

Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media
by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky, first published in 1988.

Presenting an analysis its authors call the "propaganda model", the book argues that since mass media news outlets are now run by large corporations, they are under the same competitive pressures as other corporations. According to the book, the pressure to create a stable, profitable business invariably distorts the kinds of news items reported, as well as the manner and emphasis in which they are reported. This occurs not as a result of conscious design but simply as a consequence of market selection: those businesses who happen to favor profits over news quality survive, while those that present a more accurate picture of the world tend to become marginalized.

The book further points out issues with the dependency of mass media news outlets upon major sources of news, particularly the government. If a particular outlet is in disfavor with a government, it can be subtly 'shut out', and other outlets given preferential treatment. Since this results in a loss in news leadership, it can also result in a loss of readership/viewership. That can itself result in a loss of advertising revenue, which is the primary income for most of the mass media (newspapers, magazines, television). To minimize the possibilities of lost revenue, therefore, outlets will tend to report news in a tone more favorable to the government and giving unfavorable news about the government less emphasis.

11. I get all my news from the internet.
The corporate garbage we are spoon-fed by the networks is pure propaganda in its most vile form, cleverly disguised as objective reporting.

14. The MSM in their self serving drive to profitize the news has blinded us
The news is supposed to be the price the corporations pay to use our airwaves. They have undermined and destroyed the news by turning it into a weapon of mass distraction.

There's more than enough BS floating in the air to be pulled in by the rabbitears, we don't need cable too. I use the internet to hit links to original sources and read it for myself.
My daughter has been drafted to present current events in her middle school class every Friday no matter who else is presenting because the kids respond to hearing the real news from her.

Doug Feith is as useless as tits on a boar hog. Anna Nicole Smith on the other hand was a stunning woman and I'm not the daddy.
It looks like they are gearing up for Iran. Same M.O. as last time. A leak here, an accusation there, denial they are planning anything,an other finding, a held briefing on "good" intel all bought and brought to by the MSN.
Can we please get the Troops out. Out now!
