1. JFK is underappreciated, IMO. His handling of the Missile Crisis
was masterly. He knew exactly how to do it, mixed a lot of diplomacy with just the right amount of show of U.S. power (the blockade). Everyone should read about this episode in our history, possibly th emost dangerous moment in the past 40 or so years. It was a truly scary time and I know because I lived through it as a young mother in New York City (where the Cuban missiles were no doubt aimed) at the time!

3. I left the RFK state office after the speech. We had talked to National HQ.
Everyone was celebratory. There was little chance we would not make it to the White House after the CA primary victory, we all agreed. The biggest hurdle was cleared. That night the next President of the US had effectively been chosen. I drove home and slept well, exhausted from the long hours. My alsrm radio went off on the hour just as announcer said, "Senator Kennedy is dead." Someone had stolen the Presidency again.

4. Yes, once the murderous tyrant Caesar reveals himself, in retrospect, things become clear
I have few doubts about who was behind the Kennedy murders, all of them.

As in Imperial Rome, all who could stop Caeser and his descendants were destroyed or killed.

This has not changed much in two millenia.

5. I watched it a couple of years ago - had the same reaction you did Greenbriar.
Yes indeed Americans could definitely benefit from re-watching it.
