Seems that Amb. Wilson and Marc Grossman were close friends, and both had a role within the American Turkish Council (ATC). Wilson was on the ATC Advisory Board at one point, where he met his future wife, Valerie Plame, at a reception.

In early summer, 2001, Marc Grossman, Undersecretary of State, dropped a dime on Valerie, whose cover was an energy analyst for Brewster Jennings Associates (BJA), a false front company created by the CIA Counter-Proliferation Division (CIA-CPD). The FBI intercepted a call from him to an ATC official, an employee of Grumman Aircraft. The Turks were reportedly interested in doing business with BJA as part of their covert nuclear proliferation activities. Grossman was recorded as saying to the effect, "Stay away from Brewster Jennings, it's CIA." Sibel Edmonds heard that tape, as lukery reports. As I've pointed out, Grossman wasn't the only one in Bush's State Department interested in blowing BJA's cover at that time. On June 1, 2001, another Undersecretary, Richard Armitage, was quoted in The Financial Times of London as revealing that a certain "retired official' in Pakistan's nuclear establishment had been trading missile and bomb technology with North Korea. Here's what I've been told will come out soon: Wilson originally told Grossman that BJC was CIA.

My immediate reaction at hearing this was, admittedly, one of some alarm. But, then, I started to realize this really isn't a revelation. There must be more to the story here. Val wasn't publicly exposed until two years later, and they're still together today. I did some research and found that Joe's book already reveals that he was on the ATC Board. It's also widely known that Wilson and Grossman were old friends. Obviously, both had security clearances at the time that the conversation was alleged to take place.

It seems obvious to me that the coming "revelation" that Grossman learned about BJA from Wilson, if true, is a limited hand-out intended to feed the Right-wing meme that "Wilson outed Plame", and to raise questions about the credibility of the Wilsons before Val's book is published. It would also tend to confuse the public about the guilt of Scooter Libby -- even though he was convited of perjury and obstruction. This would seem to go more dircetly to the guestion of legal liability of those with whom Libby conspired, particularly the Vice President. If the domino-like collapse of the Administration proceeds, it appears that Dick Cheney is the next figure in line to fall.

All of us who followed the Libby trial closely came to the same conclusion. There are sufficient grounds to conclude that Vice President Richard Cheney had an active role in directing the conspiracy to "out" Valerie Plame. This appears to be a preemptive strike against such a prosecution.

I have my own theory about who it may be. Don't think it's an official presently "on the inside" of a gov't agency, but instead a bright eccentric who's had (numerous) jobs at intel/defense contractors.

Now that the Justice department is finished with it's house cleaning, The rest of the deal Bush made to spare himself impeachment will begin. The Cheney resignation will be forth coming within the time frame I estimated last week. There are three weeks left on that clock. If you look through obscure posts from three weeks ago until last week, you will see my original predictions about Rove (perfectly timed) and Gonzales (also one week prior as stated) Deny my accuracy and attribute it to coincedence or guessing if you like, but within three weeks from this day the dark one falls. The deal has been made and the substance of it is out. I am not a mystic and do not own a crystal ball. I do however own many devices that are able to communicate messages through the air. These have been put to great use.. Cheney is next, and you heard it here first. AS I STATED WITH MY OTHER POSTS MARK THIS ONE! Do not talk of it, Just mark it! It will be a great remebrance!

The idea of a deal to transition power in order to avoid prosecution is intriguing and would explain a lot, but, I can't imagine why Dems would go for it.

He does go off the deep end, however, in his postings about owning "devices that are able to communicate messages through the air" and references in earlier posts to child abuse and people being snatched out of cars with the engines left running.

Read the QuebecIndymedia post. Similar use of language, heavy on technical detail, convincing use of technical and intel terminology, obviously very bright, but describes himself as a person who's essentially out of control.

Note the reference to Iridium.

Every DUer should feel as flattered as I do: I see you've been here since 2005 reading our unedited (& sometimes mis-spelled) prose. You're here at DU to get informed, aren't you, so why wouldn't you want to read this book for the same reason?

I want to know how Valerie felt throughout the long process of having been betrayed by the little man in the WH. That's enough for me to reserve my copy of the book. For me, I doubt that I'll be yawning, even if I had to tread through a plethora of misspellings & grammatical errors to learn the information.
