Menu Foods And Wal-Mart Reshelving Recalled Cat Food
Menu Foods has re-supplied Wal-Mart with previously recalled pet food after placing a new UPC code over the previous UPC codes. They claim that the re-shelved foods are completely safe and that the packaging is the issue, not the food inside. The decision to place new stickers over the old UPC code was reportedly made together with Wal-Mart.

1. Stupid marketing move
if this gets out, cat lovers will never buy the Menu Foods brands again, and may well stop going to Wal-Mart (which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, imho).

6. This article could be a mistake
I don' know anything about this itchmo web site. Maybe their report is an error. I hope so. But until we find out, I would suggest that all of us pet owners be very careful in what we buy. Better to be safe than sorry.

3. Kind of like waving the old magic wand, eh?
Did you guys know that meat departments do similar things to their expired meat??

When you buy chicken in "non-branded" wrappers, it's probably expired & re-wrapped & put "on sale"..

& those "pre-marinated" meats?? same thing (sometimes)

same for the rotisserie chickens..just about to expire chickens are often "given/sold" to the in-store delis..

8. Well
While it has and will continue to happen. At the chain I work for a couple of Meat Department Managers are now unemployed for having a problem with this type of thing. Change dates on products and oops you are fired.

4. Shopping at Walmart is like going to a third world village doctor for surgery
You are simply risking your family's life and welfare in exchange for slightly cheaper prices for VASTLY inferior, unsafe, and potentially deadly goods.

Walmart should be fined like crazy for this, but I am sure our corporate overlords will never let that happen.
