1. Another bourbon, Mr. Thompson?
I think the diff in photos is due to the miracle of retouching....in person he does indeed look like hell.

I'll be he's lost at least thirty pounds between some of the pictures I've seen

you can't retouch gaunt, emaciated, haggard

let's see what I can find

2. you know it's between him and Rudy; whoever the M$M chooses will
get the nod.

from that point on it's going to be Bush/2000, all over again.

they won't follow ANY negative stories; none will have any more legs than Bush/drugs, Bush/Harken, Bush/AWOL, Bush/abortion, Bush/Funeralgate.

just watch

7. I don't think it will matter too much how the media handles it.
I happen to think a lot of the reason McCain dropped like a rock was because he appeared VERY OLD on the campaign trail. Freddie is going to have the same problem, and I don't think it will matter what the media says.

Rudy is another story.l At least from what I've seen, he seems to still have the ambition.

I'm still watching Huckabee though. If he wasn't a Pub, even I could like the guy.

13. I hope you're right, but all evidence points to free ride for the latest media darling,
Edited on Sun Aug-26-07 12:54 PM by Gabi Hayes
from Obama to Rudy to Fred

and media didn't jump off the McCain straight talk express because he looks too old....it just became impossible to not realize he was completely full of excrement, and became exactly the thing he excoriated when running against Bush in 2000. his hypocrisy was so obvious (hitching his wagon to the Bush 'star' after vilifying it so extremely), that even the dumbest of the dumb couldn't help but notice

and since M$M is a wholly owned subsid of the Ruling Class, whose side do you think they'll come down on when all the silliness stops?

28. But it was the people who realized it first! He started losing support,
not getting $$, and apparently fighting with his staff and they all quit!

All I meant was that the voters noticed it FIRST!

Someone with a bad heart or cancer or something like that would have a hard time walking that much.

I believe it is the same kind of lymphoma which killed Paul Tsongus.

11. just remember, it's ALL about the media, how they portray the candidate, either by
ignoring the damaging stories, as they did for Bush/Cheney, and continue to do so, even though it's impossible to ignore EVERYthing now (look what a great job ignoring the justice department scandal, though....just one of myriad)

the media will pursue the dem candidate, no matter who he/she is, and go as easy as cake on whomever the pugs choose. it's been that way since Reagan/Carter

the people who own most media have a vested interest in things staying the way they are, and that's why the stories they don't cover (especially on TV, which is the true reality for most american "news" consumers). the less they know, the happier corporate media, and by extension, the GOP, are

not that the dems are revealing themselves to be much better these days

15. I agree with you.
Most of it under his eyes. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist!

What's going to sink Fred more than anything else is his unbelievable thin skin coupled with a hair trigger temper when questioned. The man just can not handle being disagreed with, called to the carpet, asked to explain why he said what he said and -- gasp! -- back it up with facts and not just because he says so. And not only that, he gets ANGRY when you question what he said! Like, mean-eyed, sputtering, stuttering, slam the podium, temper-tantrum angry.

Put him in a debate against Hillary, Obama, Edwards or any of the other Dems, frankly, and, although he'll be taller than them -- something some Freepers think will be enough to bring voters over --, wait for him to overstate something he allegedly did or get a fact wrong (he's a notoriously bad study who, on the set of L&O, wouldn't bother to read his lines until he got on-set to film the scene. THEN he'd take 10 or 15 minutes to learn his lines while everyone -- all of them prepared and ready to work -- waited around and money went down the drain) and see how he crumbles and sputters and rages when the Democrat corrects him.

In fact, if Hillary is the nominee, I'm ALMOST expecting him to have a "little lady" gaffe, one so egregious that even the Corporate Media won't be able to bail him out. And if Obama is the nominee, expect Freddy's racist undertone to flare up as well.

Fact is, I don't think the repugs have anyone being seriously considered who'd be that much better.

19. you realize your second paragraph describes Bush, too?
how much harm did that do HIM?

the MEDIA will choose how to play such little peccadilloes, and if he's their boy, you won't see any examples of this, except on youtube/crooks and liars/DU

nothing has changed since the stolen elections. they were both made possible by M$M compliance with the republican party

it really is that simple

there's so much hard evidence that you could spend the next decade documenting it

just look how much media matters and daily howler, for just two examples, have amassed

it's all about the media

remember....it was GEORGE BUSH, lazy halfwit drydrunk, who breezed through two elections, despite a proven record as an AWOL SEC violator, who didn't know the names of any of the foreign leaders with whom he'd be dealing (General General?), and when negative stories came out about him, they'd die quicker than a wet match in a hurrican, with often the only response being a DEFENSE of Bush, while mischaracterizing the initial story

it's not going to change

ask David Gregory. look what he's become

24. The bags under his eyes could be from Alcohol, Thyroid, heart
disease, allergies, or heredity. Without makeup, he looks like he is not very well.

Look for earlobe creases. It is an indicator of heart trouble or risk of stroke. It's not definitive, but it could be reason to look for trouble.
