Iran says no to oil production rise
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=276682

Iran, OPEC's second largest oil producer, said on the weekend it could not foresee any change in the cartel's oil output limit.

The new Oil Minister Gholam Hossein Nozari has stated he is not in favour of increasing the limit and has said Iran’s attitude on output has not changed.

At its last regular meeting in March, OPEC decided to keep its official production quota at 25.8 million barrels of oil per day.

Russia's output to Europe has decreased a third this week
Gas prices maybe on the rise

1. They probably can't process any more, and right now, the price is right
This three buck thing is WORKING for them.

Of course, their pals in SA may have other ideas.

Hell, in Iran, they're importing almost HALF of the gasoline they use. Why? No REFINING capacity of their own to speak of--they haven't done shit in that regard since they tossed Shah over the side.

And they're RATIONING gas. Strictly!!! In IRAN! The land of what used to be five, ten cents a litre gas, once upon a time.... Jimmy Carter has to be laughing, just a bit....

2. Hint: Iran wants the price of oil to go up.
Hugo Chavez of Venezuela has said many times, "The price of oil must go up".

Why?

It's a 2-pronged result, both of them good for oil producing countries. 1) Oil producers get lots more revenue.
2) The West (meaning the biggest oil users) become poorer, our economies start hurting big time, because we're so helplessly dependent on the Black Gold.

Nice side effects
Bush gets more and more hated, as the price of gas goes up. They've done studies, and found that it's an inverse relationship. ~who could resist?~
Gas consumption goes down. People end up taking the bus, or hitch-hiking.
Conservation gets serious attention.
