People at work know who I am now.I had my first "discussion"

As most of you know,I've written 100 letters to my local paper,99% which have been ant-war,anti-Bush in some way.My boss has read them, and seems to approve. She mentioned to my co-workers my frequent letter writing. One of the nice Republican ladies I work with asked me what the topic of my letters were.I replied that I am an anti-war activist. She put her hand in the air to stop me and said"That's enough-I don't want to talk to anyone who doesn't support the troops".I told her,in an nice way,if she'd bothered to read any of my letters, ashe'd have learned how we have screwed our soldiers and veterans by shorting their supplies, sending them bad food, cheating them on their health care when they get back.I then reminded her that over 50% of the "troops" were private contractors who were making 4-5 times what the troops were making. She quietly said-"Yeah,my cousin works for KBR".I pointed out the travesties in health care for vets, and she replied"Yeah,well-I bet other countries don't treat their vets any better"..I asked "How does that make it right?"...fortunately,we were interupted.I hate talking politics at work.

2. Most people have
a mental filing system. For some people, there are a number of files where any given piece of information might go. For others, there are but a few.

Some of your co-workers have those limited filing systems that force them to stuff every bit of information that even hints that Bush is not Mr. Wonderful, and that the war in Iraq isn't protecting us from another 9-11, into the "S/he Doesn't Support the Troops!" file. Their ability to process issues on a more complicated level is approximately the same as my dog's ability to drive standard or to teach math at the local high school.

4. "Yeah,my cousin works for KBR"
You nailed her really good..

That shook her, I guarantee it.

That is the chink in her armor.
