Buzz Aldrin on the war in Iraq
I was listening to Howard Stern this morning and he was interviewing Buzz. Howard asked Buzz what he thought about Iraq. This is the essence of his response:

"It was the right decision going in to put the democracy wedge between Syria and Iran. We made a mistake in the beginning because we didn't send enough troops but we are on the right track now."

Howard asked if we should get out and Buzz's answer was - "NO, it would be chaos."

Howard said it's chaos now and Buzz said - "if we left more killing would occur just like when we abandoned Vietnam."

Buzz then went on to say "I'm a true military guy and it is Duty, Honor, Country - so I'm going to speak the truth when asked."

Someone needs to tell Buzz to go back to selling condos in Florida and that "true military men" don't get face lifts.

1. I heard that this morning and shouted at my computer!
I think it was scared. Buzz has proven himself irrelevant in the 21st century.

4. Groundhogs Day...Year 5
The Repugnican Catch 22 game...anyone can play. It's the "if we withdraw it'll be a bloodbath". And who caused this bloodbath and why?

It wasn't this country didn't have enough forces in '03, it's the lack of any plan for the occupation in those initial days...letting the country turn into a looters paradise that all but destroyed the economic infastructure that put many Iraqis on the streets and into the willing hands of militias. There was also the greed and corruption of Bremmer that tried to "de-Baathify" the country that put thousands of more young Iraqis...many with both weapons training and a grudge on the streets as well. Mix this with billions of dollars (pallets that "vanished") and a massive influx of weapons from the US and virtually every other arms dealer in the area. What did you expect would happen, Buzz.

So our young men and women should be cannon fodder to prevent some bloodbath that we encouraged not just with that botched invasion, but with the ongoing mess this regime created. This horse is out of the barn...yes, there will be a major bloodletting in Iraq and the results won't be pretty...but it's gonna happen one way or the other. Unless our military is replaced with an Arab League or similar force, this will remain the scenario and right now we've burned so many bridges with the countries that could help us, we're stuck even deeper.

Duty, Honor and Country have been so perverted by this regime to mean support for a war for profit.

8. TMZ just caught Aldrin after having a face lift
TMZ published a photo on Monday of Buzz Aldrin leaving the Lasky Clinic in Beverly Hills, with his face and eyes covered in protective bandages. I can't find the photo now but it was pretty funny.
