Drive by shooting at progressive radio station misses host's head by 18 inches
As much as I love Pacifica, I usually suspect that their audience is too small to make a difference.

Apparently, the far right disagrees, or they wouldn't bother to do things like this.

Drive-By-Shooting Targets Pacifica Station KPFT in Houston

A drive-by shooting targeted Pacifica Radio station KPFT in Houston early on Monday morning. A bullet blasted through a Plexiglass window in the station's studio. At the time of the shooting, Mary Thomas was hosting a zydeco music program. The bullet came within 18 inches of her head. No one was injured in the shooting. Station manager Duane Bradley said the shooting might have been political. Bradley said "It's highly likely that, at some point, someone may have heard something that offended them and they decided to do something about it." KPFT has been the target of attacks before. Shortly after the Houston station went on the air, the Ku Klux Klan blew up the station's transmitters with dynamite in 1970 and again in 1971.

1. Oh yeah, these reich-wingers just love democracy,
as long as it is their way of having a democracy.

6. I thought I remembered something about that station
It's the only such station to have its transmitter blown up in this country, yes?

8. I vaguely remember something like that in 1972 but
there was a whole lot going on back then and it was a long time ago.

There were lots of things getting 'blown up' in 1972!

10. It's coming back to me now...
One of the station's producers was on the Peter B. Collins show a few months ago, talking about the incident. Don't remember who.

Anyway, according to Wiki, it was October 1970, and the station was off the air for five months as a result.
