2. This is the real reason he has resigned.
He is going to "architect" a new President. Whoever he hires on with will win the nomination - that's how the Bush-Republicans work...

3. Why Would He?
What's the upside? What's in it for Karl? He's already had the golden ring. Plus he's got even bigger gold waiting...as long as he can keep his fat ass out of jail. There's millions waiting for him in speaking gigs, telepunditry and surely a multi-million dollar deal already worked out with Rupert.

I'm sure campaigns have already been inundating his RNC Blackberry...but Rove, just like Gonzo, have worked only for one "boss" all these years. Plus their only client still needs him...and from Texas, the thought is Rove is back on "safe" turf and his job will be the "booooosh legacy". His fantasy speech yesterday all but showed those cards.

Look at our pal James Carville...on the heels of his work with Clinton, many assumed he'd lead other Democrats to the "promised land"...didn't quite work that way...even in Hillary's campaign.

6. You can't leak the identity of above-top-secret CIA agents if you're on the lecture circuit

9. Why Not?
Rove modus operendi is the corporate media and the lecture circuit keeps him in that loop. Ya don't think if he needs to astroturf things he won't? By hiding in Texas he's a lot more stealth to play his dirty tricks.

Be assured a call from Rove will still be answered by his old buddy Novak and many others in the beltway. Look at the new meme about Hillary not being "electable" by Democrats...one more Rovian game. The Mighty Wurlitzer might not be playing tunes most people dance to anymore, but it's still making noise.

8. He won't officially sign on to any campaign. What
he will do is work behind the scenes on election thievery and the destruction of the Dem candidate. That's a given.

11. He will not be associated with any one campaign.
For him to work with a campaign gives the Dems too much
fodder.

I really don't. I don't give a crap what this over-rated little shit is up to, post white-house.

If some Gooper nominee thinks he can go to that well again and win with Rove, let him.

Meanwhile, we've got ass to kick.

(on edit) Not intended as a knock against your starting this thread on this subject. FWIW, I'd heard he was going to work for Fred Thompson awhile back, I can still see him doing that--Fred's enough like George that it could work for them.
