Remember - who did Chimpy put in charge of post-Katrina?
Why none other than the "brilliant", "ingenious", "irreplaceable" KKKarl Rove.

from September 2005:

http://www.americablog.com/2005/09/rove-yes-karl-rove-is-in-charge-of.html

All you really need to know about the White House's post-Katrina strategy -- and Bush's carefully choreographed address on national television tonight -- is this little tidbit from the ninth paragraph of Elisabeth Bumiller and Richard W. Stevenson 's story in the New York Times this morning:

"Republicans said Karl Rove, the White House deputy chief of staff and Mr. Bush's chief political adviser, was in charge of the reconstruction effort."

(snip)

Rove does have a track record of success -- but it's from running nasty, negative, political smear campaigns. Karl Rove also has a track record of lying to the media. Knowing Bush and Rove were together during the initial stages of the hurricane and its aftermath sure helps explain why the GOP doesn't want an independent commission.

(end snip)

Something else to investigate, Dems.

3. We will never investigate Katrina until Leiberman is out of there, and some other Dems show
an *inkling* of concern for the region...

Senator Questions Rove's Fundraising Trip As Hurricane Nears
By EUNICE MOSCOSO
Cox News Service
Monday, September 26, 2005

WASHINGTON — A Democratic senator asked the White House on Friday to explain why Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove was heading to a political fundraiser on the day a major hurricane was poised to hit Texas and Louisiana.

"Hurricane Rita is bearing down on the Gulf Coast even as the nation reels from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It would be expected that Mr. Rove would be at his post '24/7' during this crisis," said Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, in a letter to President Bush. "However, as unlikely as it might seem, we have learned that Mr. Rove will be traveling to North Dakota to engage in political fundraising activities."

~

Lautenberg said in the letter that Rove's involvement in coordinating hurricane recovery efforts "raises troubling questions given his partisan political background."

6. That whole Katrina recovery project is riddled with fraud, like everything else Karl touches.
Now that he can't be assured of the DOJs complicity in not investigating his crimes, he should be making plans for his bunker.
But with his hubris... I think he's over-reached and he might not reach his spidey hole in time. We'll see.
