We Rolled Karl Rove...
In 2000 the Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, and had the majority of governor positions... Now they don't control the House or Senate and have a minority of governor positions...They do have the most unpopular president since Dick Nixon...

I used to laugh at the magical powers some ascribed to Karl Rove...His knowledge of American politics and what it takes to win is not any greater than a first year grad student in Political Science...

And he went out the way he came in...Lying his ass off...

Good riddance to bad rubblish...

1. The overreaching and hubris is what did him in.

2. He Used To Be Feared On This Board...
I want to know what made him so special...

If it wasn't for tens of thousands of spoiled Florida ballots we would have never heard of him...

At the end of the day it is Dems who ran him out of town. Thanks Patrick Leahy, John Conyers et al.

4. Don't think for a second that "we" won anything on this ...
.... now this creepy Nazi gets to crawl back under the rocks from whence he came, with no public oversight, to continue to do his unseemly and likely unconstitutional - if not illegal - work. He's going to be a 'private citizen' again which means we essentially won't be able to touch him.

Truth loses. America loses. KKKarl and the Blivet win. :(

5. I'm Sorry...
They controlled every lever of state and federal government in 2000...All they have now is a failed president... And if the Democrats don't get a major case of the "stoopids" they won't even have that in seventeen months...

Your response presupposes Rove has mythical powers... I submit he has none...

6. Bush's unpopular policies is what lost the election.
Rove did a masterful job considering what he had to work with. His tactics are sound, but you can't make a silk purse out a sows ear.

7. Bush Is An Idiot But It Gave Rove A Brand Name To Work With
Folks even bought Edsels because they were made by Ford before they discovered they sucked...

The only reason Bush* is president is because Gore wasn't content to expose Bush as a moron in the debates...He had to go ahead and patronize him too... Folks don't like that...

But even with that he still beat him by some 500,000 votes and if it wasn't for a bunch of shenanigans in Florida he would be president...

I never suggested Rove was an idiot...He's just not any more adroit than any second year grad student in Political Science...

8. Not mythical powers ... just connections, money and alot of dirt ...
... that folks like him use behind closed doors, to their own advantage.

Ambramoff, The Dukester, Delay ... all examples of the shady crap that goes on in the 'semi-private' sector. One can only imagine what kind of swill is being purveyed in the 'totally private sector'.
