If Rove Resigned On Monday Rather Than Friday Something Bad Is Coming Tuesday
Rove's resignation will drown out anything else that appears in the news tomorrow and the next several days after. One wonders why his resignation was released when it was.

Nothing these bastards do and no timing is without reason.

tomorrow is "more than 10 days"...Bush gets to recess appoint after 10 days...

2. If Harry Reid were smarter than a slug, he'd have a local Senator
open up the Senate briefly this afternoon. There must be some housekeeping type thing that can be done. A report earlier this year said he was not going to allow a recess period that would permit Bush to do recess appointments. I hope he keeps his word.

5. I agree - Rove is bigger to us
Most people don't know much about Bush's political adviser other than the fact that he is a pretty evil person...

6. I'm betting he joins another campaign - maybe Fred Thompson's -
and goes on to greater glory stealing more and bigger elections.

10. Too many people suffering from Rove-syndrome here
The saga around the evil mastermind of Bush's brain needs to be put in perspective.
Karl Rove is nothing but an unscrupulous, immoral, conniving little sales man. He sold his product (GWB) first to Texas and later to another quart or so of the US. He is not the evil genius that is behind every move made in Washington.
What's left for him to stay on? He doesn't make actual policies, he just makes sure that the rest of the Administration doesn't do things that would negatively affect his boy.
His job is done. His product's life cycle has come to an end. THere is not much more to trash, there is not much more to salvage. Most importantly, there is nothing left to gain.
He's gonna move on. He can now pick any position he wants or take up a lucrative bribery, pardon lobbying, career.

Big deal. Good riddance.

11. Only one reason Rove would be pried out of office now ....
Some significant wrongdoing tied directly to him has become known and is about to be made public. Just like Scooter's resignation, Rove will walk away from the WH and Bush/Cheney will hardly even remember who he is and that he worked there at all.

IMHO I think this is directly related to the Congressional subpoenoes demanding documents which Rove and the WH defied. The fact Rove refused to testify before Congress under subpoena is easier to defend, but the documents are the smoking gun that Rove could not avoid.
