Gunman opens fire inside Missouri church
NEOSHO, Mo. - A gunman opened fire in the sanctuary of a southwest Missouri church Sunday, killing three people and wounding several others, authorities said.

About 25 to 50 people were briefly held hostage at the First Congregational Church until the gunman surrendered, Neosho spokeswoman Desiree Bridges said.

About four or five people were wounded, Police Chief Dave McCracken said, and several others who were injured fled the scene.

1. Nice town, nice people.
We pulled off the road there with a broken towbar. Some guy came by, saw our dilemma, pulled the towbar off, took it to his barn, welded it back together, and sent us on our way. He just wanted to be neighborly.

16. That is about 99.9% of small town Missouri
Most of the people in that state will do just that for you if they are able.

Lived in NW Missouri for 25+ years, you never needed to worry about bing stranded on a deserted road with a broken down car.

Just a few nut jobs.

2. This incident is why I wish GA would allow its good citizens to carry concealed at church.

As of right now, only the bad guys do.

8. This isn't funny at all, in fact it's disgusting
Think the state of Georgia ought to let all the bad people who haven't done anything yet into churchs with concealed carry or black rifles?

9. I think the Stateof GA can't stop bad people with malice from bringing guns into church,

but the law abiding will leave their guns in their cars.

Sure, if someone isn't prohibited from carrying a weapon the State of GA should not prohibit them from carrying in church. Churches can prohibit the carrying of weapons if they so desire -- thats their choice.

10. Churches can have an offering for the metal detectors and armed guards
Maybe gun "enthusiasts" can have a combination church and gun show. Once again the gun crowd proves they are an evil influence on America that wany guns in schools, churches, anywhere.
