AFA: Redbook magazine endorses hedonistic sex!
From an AFA e-mail ALERT!:

Redbook has become the new Playgirl. The sex advice they are giving throws all traditional values out the window and encourages a pagan, hedonistic lifestyle.

Recently, Marcia Segelstein wrote a guest column for OneNewsNow.com. I plead with you to read her article. It will open your eyes to what our children and teens are facing in a culture swimming in the moral sewer. After you read the article, please take the suggested action. Redbook operates on the philosophy that parents and grandparents don’t care enough to get involved.

I urge you to spend a little time on Redbook's Web site at Redbookmag.com. Click on the "Love Life" section.

They are encouraging women to have fun with sex! Can you believe it? What is becoming of the world?

8. When I used to subscribe, all they wanted to tell ME
was how to fold a diaper correctly, or how many weiners to put into that delightful macaroni casserole.... they seem to be focusing on another wiener altogether these days

Assuming the macaroni casserole ingredients were any good.

3. I have been predicting of late...
That we are on the cusp of a hedonistic period that will rival, or in some cases surpass, the 20's, late 40's(Man, them people coming home from WWII tore it UP!) and the 70's.

Hopefully, we'll be able to dodge the bullet of something like Disco, however.

6. Aw, come ON now!
Disco was kinda cheesy, true, but in its own way a lot of it kicked serious ass. :P

9. What about the Go-Go girls in the cages suspended above the dance floor?
Ah, the memories!

12. I have bad memories of that...
From "The Limelight" in NYC. I always got the feeling they were up their in those cages as a part of some bondage ritual.

Which, knowing that place, they probably were. ;-)

21. Actually, my memories of those "cagees" are bad, too.
They did make "sex objects" out of females, not hard to do back in the 60s. This was in Seattle, and I can't remember the name of the place (not to mention had no idea what bondage was--I was pretty repressed!) but one time the guy I was with started talking about how one of the Go-Go girls "turned him on" and he could imagine what it would be like having her writhing body 'neath his. Arghhh... Needless to say I dumped him and eventually married a nice uncomplicated non-chauvinistic guy--just marked our 40th anniversary, pretty amazing when I think about it. Also I was in the workplace long enough to actually make as much as my male counterparts in the same job (well, almost). Those were "interesting times", the 50s, 60s, even into the 70s. May they never return!

I love your posts, BTW!

They didn't put my hubby on their hottest husbands list. So much for truth. ;)

20. They are incredibly silly
What does traditional values have to do with anything? No one is forcing them to buy the magazine and read it. And if they are so traditional and upstanding at the AFA, how on earth would they know about such "dirty" articles.
