Holy Patrick! He Talks!

So it's been rumored that the Senate's No. 1 Batman fan is likely to get his second cameo in a movie about the caped crusader. But we're just learning that Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy actually gets to talk this time. Unlike when he had a nonspeaking role in the 1997 hit Batman & Robin, I'm told that he will have a speaking part, though a "small role," in the new flick The Dark Knight, out next year.

Who knows? If they cut a few more Batmans, he might actually get to play the Joker. Leahy dabbles in Batman culture purely for fun: He donates his pay to his favorite library, the Kellogg-Hubbard Children's Library in Montpelier.

1. Batman & Robin was a hit?
I love the Batman mythos, but I suffered through that one.

3. Holy Hit Batman! Who the HELL would call Batman & Robin a "hit"?
...did the definition of "hit" suddenly change to mean "sequel killer"?

"Batman and Robin is TO BE AVOIDED LIKE THE PLAGUE"...

4. Maybe if he puts on some spandex,
a cape, and a mask he could vanquish the unbelievable whitewashing ruse of totally undeserved and unearned executive privilege and enforce those subpoenas.

We truly need an industrial strength Superhero Senator.

5. He should really be in a "Grinch" movie. Does anyone else see that resemblance?
