Man dies in immigration custody; sister begged to get him needed drugs
64 detainees have died in ICE custody since 2004.

Family members of an illegal Brazilian immigrant from Milford who died while in federal custody are demanding a public investigation into his death.
Edimar Alves Araujo, 34, died Tuesday while in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. According to family members, Araujo suffered epilepsy and needed phenobarbital, an anti-seizure medication.
Araujo had been arrested by Woonsocket, R.I., police after a traffic stop. He was also wanted on a 2002 deportation warrant.
His sister, Irene Araujo, said she went to Woonsocket Police twice and tried to warn them about Araujo’s medical problem, but she said they told her not to worry.
