Countdown just dropped this little bomb..

HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE????

I'm tellin' ya... if the upcoming election is this out of kilter, I'm really befuddled..

How a republican... ANY republican could ever be trusted to be president for many years, is totally beyond me...

A Dem ....ANY dem should be double digits ahead of the "best" they have to offer..

I just don't think any of them are up to it in any way compared to the Dems.

5. That's the results of one poll
Still, I dearly hope Rude is the nominee. Ah, the skeletons that will dance across the political stage.

15. Skeletons in Repiglickin Closets DO. NOT. MATTER. NOT. ONE. LITTLE. BIT.
Bush** has plenty of skeletons in his closet. The media would not speak of them.

Nobody will ever see or hear about any skeletons in Gouliani's closet on the evening news.

17. Yes, and the "mainstream media will never cover Yearly Kos"
We saw how accurate that prediction was. :eyes:

The lapdog media was then, this is now ... we have reason to hope, as terrifying as that may be.

18. It's Not an Election Year Yet
They are allowed to stray off the reservation a little during odd years,
and they have to do it a little more now so that their fawning over
Hillary Clinton doesn't arouse too many suspicions.

Once the general election campaign starts up, they operate as an arm of the RNC.

21. That's what the RNC would like us to believe
We have to remain positive and insist on the truth. Otherwise, what is the point in
trying? Why even post here?

13. I was having dinner with two young friends of mine last night, both women
They are, I believe, both 22 years old. We were talking about politics, both of them are liberals. They both bemoaned the idea that Clinton will become the nominee. I said that we need to vote anyway to prevent another four years of the same. They agree that the country's in bad shape and that it's Bush's fault. One said that she could "vote for the right Republican". The other simply said, "Sin!!!", which made us laugh. Then the first one said that the "right Republican" is probably just a myth, so no biggie. I said, okay, then it's settled, we'll all vote for Clinton if she wins the nomination.

Both of them said no way, they'd abstain. Why? "I want the first woman President to be a good one". Not a good reaction for our future.

19. They are, of course, planning to do just that. Stories like these are planted...
...to make the theft seem like a believable election outcome.

20. Exactly...plant the story long enough and people will buy it- NOT THIS TIME.
Edited on Fri Aug-10-07 09:42 PM by BeHereNow
I don't think the people are going to buy it this time.
Not that will they do anything about the rigged elections either,
but I don't think they will buy the manufactured popularity.
However, they will probably accept it as "the way things are..."
If Clinton is the candidate however, count on Ghoul-iani
being installed.
Then, prepare to flee the country.

14. I don't understand these polls, either
This wouldn't be the first one that shows how close it is. I agree with the poster upthread--"you don't live where I live." While Southern Cal and Northern NJ are very blue, there's a huge amount of ignorance out there (in places like Nebraska) about Guiliani and other candidates like Romney.

I actually had a student ask me in class today if I thought that the dumbed down state of Americans was deliberate. And you know who asks these questions? Intelligent students who are immigrants from foreign countries. In this case, it was a student whose family is from the Ukraine.

16. We're FUCKED Unless Gore Runs
Even Gore isn't a sure thing, but he has a chance.

It isn't us against the Repiglicans, it's us against the Mighty Slime Machine.

Gore is the only one who can get his message out in spite of the "news" media.

the closer to the ballot curtain, all these numbers will be spiking in several directions but i think Americans are ready for this one and ready to rock & roll
