His passion and work to help inspire people to wake up to the climate crisis which this week we are seeing making itself known globally really means nothing to them. So of course, they would not understand why playing these BS games is disrespectful to him.

names? have high-level staffers who once worked for Gore mysteriously resigned and went to work for a Gore-associated PAC? have any said PACs recently reactivated?

32. I've been saying this, to no avail, for a while now.
Gore knows what it takes to mount a presidential campaign, just as you have said. I would faint if Gore decided all of a sudden at this late date to just tell the world "Hi there. I'm running!"

Mon Dieu, mes amis!

34. yeah, alot of people don't realize the massive planning that goes into any campaign,
let alone for President.

Waiting until the Fall of the year before the election is what torpedo'd political newcomer Wes Clark last time around, Gore sure as hell wouldn't make the same mistake after 20+ years in the game.

37. You can see how much I love Wes Clark but there's no comparison
Between his late entry in 2004 and Gore doing so this year. EVERYBODY knows who Gore is, many of them know he was cheated out of the presidency and quite a few who voted for Bush regret that vote tremendously.

Plus Live Earth will get the youth of America out campaigning for him.

40. my point was more about staff and volunteers
this late in the race, many donors, precinct captains, local elected officials, and field staff are committed to the major candidates--meaning, they wouldn't sign on to an Al Gore exploratory committee staff that might lead to Gore completely and totally ruling out a run. Candidates need the people before they announce.

51. Exactly. And Gore knows this better than anyone. As for volunteers,
they are great but they need to be recruited, managed, directed, given resources they need and oversight. This can only be done by paid staff, accountable to the campaign for getting things done. Volunteers come and go, their lives change. Until recently, I was a manager for our local Literacy Volunteers. I was paid staff, albeit part time, and I know what happens in volunteer situations.

9. I would like to see it happen
And most Democrats would also like that. But I think, like Bill Clinton and John Kerry, Al is probably more in control not being in the white house. And I hope that would mean that he could stay a private citizen in order to keep going after the illegal administration we all know and hate.

38. I thought of that too...here we have the spectacle of a supposedly confident front funner....
lashing out at a challenger, which was embarrassing enough...but now she attacks someone who isn't even running? Come on....she at least is afraid he will run. Why else take a dig at a good Democrat who is trying to save the world?

Either she thinks he may run, or she is really a mean, petty duck.

I am almost wanting to support Obama because of how mean, petty, and irritating some of the Hillary Bloviators have been. Maybe one more posting of "poll results" will push me over the edge to support Obama.
But there is something...something I can't put my finger on....about Hillary Bloviators that really turns me off. I do hope Gore or Clark run. PLEASE?!!!

43. Dream on - his son's DUI made that a no go
even if he was entertaning the thought. His family comes FIRST -- along with his global warming work.

Much to my dismay.

I LOVE Al - but if he does not announce by Ocotber - I must go with Edwards.

Hillary and Obama just will be a " dno "go" in the general due to"hate Hillary" misogyeny (sp?) that will superfund the Right Wing and the media

Also gainst Obama due to latent racism when it's down to the count, considering the factor of "Rethug steal" in crucial close states.

Pessimist here -- I dream of a Dem candidate who will capture our vision

It is a completely bullshit argument that his son's DUI has anything to do with what kind of president Al Gore would be, and he is smart enough to make that clear to the country. I don't think he's going to let the media get away with using that against him.

52. I sure hope so
In my humble opinion, though I like most of the Dem candidates, I don't think any of them are up to the monumental task the next president will have. We have a massive amount of work to do abroad and at home to repair the havoc caused by * and Co. I see smart and charismatic candidates, but I do not see WISE candidates, and wisdom is needed more then anything else right now.

The only one I see that is qualified to do that is President Gore.

Please Run, Mr. Gore, Please, we need you.

I don't much care how crazy it sounds, in my opinion he is the one hope that we have to turn things around before they are to late.
