Why are CNN and Fox doing positive stories on Hillary?
This is an interesting development. Fox is positively gushing over her as is CNN.

My "who the hell is Hillary really" radar is up.

1. Because they're terrified of Edwards
They don't think Hillary will rock the boat. If she starts to, they think they'll be able to defeat her the most easily.

2. They either think she is easy to beat or she is the most conservative
of Dems running.

Disclaimer. I haven't picked anyone to like as of yet.

4. They want her to be the Democratic nominee.
Why? She's a lightning rod. They're building her up now, so they can (try to) tear her down later. It'll be great for ratings next year.

Hannity wants her to be the nominee, too, for the same reason. So does Rush.

7. Because they want her as the nominee. That way they can go back to the glory days of Clinton-Bashing
That's why.

If HRC gets the nod it'll be a 24/7 orgy of Clinton Hatred across the media...They can't WAIT for it!!

No thanks....

ANYONE but HRC.

I want a Dem in the WH in '08 and that won't happen if HRC gets the nomination...

14. A rw win-win
A President who isn't going to substantially change anything - and a target to bash incessantly while she does next to nothing to help working people.

I can't figure out why Dems are buying into this.

Because she's the Democratic candidate most likely to continue the give-away of America to corporations, special interest groups, and the continuation of the Bush agenda. It's a fire sale, everything must go.

And I wasn't kidding around either.

It appears that the wingnut propagandists have began to figure that out for themselves now.

Slow learners I guess?

11. Because they and the rest of the MSM has already decided that
she'll be the Dem nominee. Fortune magazine said it in bold letters across it's cover: Business loves Hillary! Now all they have to do is promote her as the inevitable "choice".One way or another they'll make sure that someone who is on their side gets into the White house. A win for corporate America, a loss for American citizens.

34. Wrong. Dem females are very tepid in their support of Hillary. And, many men can't stand her.
Hillary, by virtue of being polarizing, is the single best recruitment ad for the Repukes. They will work their troops up in a frenzy over the prospect of a Hillary Presidency.

You watch. As soon as she becomes the Dem candidate, Faux will turn on her viciously.

17. They have storerooms full of "dirt" left over from the "Clinton Years"
all ready to air... and they know the
faithful" will love to see it all trotted out again.. Just like an old time movie that never goes out of style.. they are eagerly awaing the re-hashing of the Monica story and the Whitewater story & the Vince Foster story and the Hubbel story..

The haters that watch Fox & listen to right wing radio eat this stuff up..they prefer the "enemy they know".

35. This is what I think too. She has the most baggage by far. Smart, competent
person but the same machine that takes a war hero and turns him into a coward will have a field day with her.

They don't want her as president...they want her as dem candidate against anyone else.

21. Anyone up for an alternative possibility?
If the next president is a Democrat, he or she will be appointing the next FCC
chairman, and if we can get an FCC chief in there as partial to us as Michael
Powell, and the clown who succeeded him, have been to the RW, then they are
looking either at drastic curtailing of their licenses, due to false advertising
of themselves as news organizations instead of propaganda organizations, or even,
in the case of Faux, of being shut down.

If they have any reason to think Hillary will indeed be the next president, they
can either be nice to her now, or face the same harassment from the left that PBS
did under Bush's puppets on the right.

36. That makes sense
and true or not, Hillary is the only one of the two three who has been given the reputation of being vindictive or ruthless. (A friend of mine conjectures in 2004, that they knew Bush would cut them dead if he got bad press, but if Kerry won he would likely strive to be fair - thus they had no fear of him harassing them.)

23. The media loves Hillary
because she provides them cover on Iraq. She, like most of the media, supported the war. She has not apologized and neither has the media. Edwards has said his vote was a terrible mistake and Obama in Oct. 2002 publicly announced that it would be a "dumb war". Hillary and the media are bedfellows when it comes to this war.

29. Payback to Bill,
for setting the stage by giving them ammunition on a silver platter with the Lewinsky Scandal, thereby making it easier for the corporate media to slander Al Gore and brain wash the American People in to actually believing Gore claimed to have invented the Internet and that Bush would restore "honor and integrity" back the White House.

I think of it as a back door strategy, to keep Al Gore out of the Oval Office. Because the corporate media didn't want the primary champion and a staunch defender of the Internet in power. They are looking for ways to regain their monopoly on information by neutralizing the Internet.

The corporate overlords will NOT allow power to transfer to the people.

Edwards terrifies them. Hillary makes them warm all over. Obama, they suspect, can be bought.
