Capitulation - MoveOn.org Petition FISA

The Democratic-controlled Congress did the unthinkable on Saturday night: They gave President Bush and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales more unchecked power to wiretap Americans without a warrant. Yes, that's the same Attorney General who is currently mired in scandal and probably committed perjury on this very issue.
Enough is enough. We have to send a strong message to Congress that there is no trade-off between fundamental liberties and security. Preserving our Constitution is essential to our security—we can't lead on freedom around the world when we're actively undermining the rule of law at home.

7. I swore I'd never sign another petition to folks who don't listen...but I signed it...

and added my comment about how disappointed I was in so many Democrats allowing Gonzales and Bush to have more power when our Democrats were elected to take back the authority that Bush/Cheney have usurped from Congress since they've been in office.

Hopefully the Move On petition will get some attention. One more petition...one more time.

who are the very ones who "crossed over" on that vote, because MoveOn. bugs them with these petitions.

I feel like many here do after phone/fax/signing petitions and walking streets and donating to candidates.

But, take the time and sign the damned thing. It only takes a minute..and you don't even have to add your own message you can just click send.

If we give up being a "thorn in their side" then what does anything matter anymore. :shrug:

The "Democrats" that voted for FISA are DINOs (Democrats in Name Only) and I would venture to bet there are more than those who felt it unnecessary to show themselves because the deed was already done without them. The two party system is a charade, Telling us what we want to hear and doing their corporate masters' bidding. There are a few noble folks but as soon as they become powerful, they are "eliminated". You can be a "thorn" in their sides if you want, but as for me, and for millions of other patriots, "give me liberty or given me death".
