U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller: US winning in Iraq

WASHINGTON -- U.S. forces are making strides in Iraq, leading military leaders to reveal more about when Americans might see their troops come home for good, U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller said today during an interview from the region.

“Our military continues to win on every front,” the Chumuckla Republican said via telephone from Pakistan.

Miller and five other members of a U.S. congressional delegation spent Monday touring the Bagdad region, holding separate meetings with tribal sheiks in Taji and with Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq. The delegation met with Petraeus at the home of Ryan Crocker, Washington’s envoy to Baghdad.

Despite ongoing news about the growing number of American casualties, including four U.S. soldiers killed today outside Baghdad, and concern over Iraq's worsening political crisis, Petraeus and Crocker assured lawmakers that the recent U.S. troop surge has shown signs of bringing stability to the troubled nation.

3. O yeah?
Let's see what Durbin and Casey have to say when they return from Iraq. Somehow, I think they will tell a different story.

Winning what? The right to stay forever in the Green Zone? The right to sell Iraqi oil?
