I've heard a lot of stupid reasoning come from people who resided on boards. I've heard one person who knew it was our responsibility to fix a problem claim, "We don't have to worry about dealing with this issue, because it will cost them more to sue us, than it will to have them fix it themselves." And I heard it again at a city meeting. "I've seen that if you ignore problems, they just go away."

Well, that kind of thinking poisons a community, because it does work, but not without cost to the party which has been wronged and who will never trust again. Eventually, the entire community becomes distrustful and uncooperative.

Right now, many of us are angry at the blue Dogs in the Democratic party, just like we were angry at the DLC (Frankly, I can't tell the difference between the two, they all seem to be more interested in protecting their personal investment portfolios, than looking at the big picture.) Right now we're all wanting to walk away, because withdrawal is a symptom of abuse. You get abused enough and feel powerless to stop the abuse, you walk away, withdraw. And that's what they want because it will affirm what they believe. If they ignore us, we will walk away.

From what I understand of the I-Ching, however, this isn't all together a bad thing to do. If you're facing an immovable force, withdrawing and waiting for a better time to strike isn't a bad plan, as long as we all strike in unison, which means someone with much more vision than I should lead the charge when that time comes. I, on the other hand, suggest quiet passive rebellion while we wait. A way to remind our Blue Dogs in Congress that we haven't forgotten, and will never forget their betrayal, and that we are just waiting for the right time to strike, which, I suspect, will come at election time.

So, while we wait, let's communicate our displeasure to let them know that, while we withdraw with frustration and disappointment, we have not forgotten. Let's find a symbol which relays this message and I suggest taking a page from the French and the Germans who stuck American flags in all the dog doos on their sidewalks. Only, instead of American flags, make the flag a white background, with a blue dog, which is appropriate since the message is, blue dogs are full of shit.
