Use his faux pas as if it were an actual word. WTF? The dumbed down Americans won't know the difference anyway.

Just like people who obviously know better using the word nukular.

2. My feeling exactly. It was pure stupidity, and he didn't even hesitate.
I guess Russert is too worried about putting food on his family to consider, "By setting a bad example of English usage, do I not care if our children is learning?"
