House to work overtime ahead of recess
By Jonathan E. Kaplan
August 03, 2007

The House of Representatives will remain in session on Saturday to consider an energy bill, delaying the start of the August recess by a day.

The House plans to consider the rule and the energy bill, according to a statement from Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) sent to reporters. The bad news for members and staffers awaiting the start of their August vacation comes hours after the House erupted in chaos during a vote on the agriculture appropriations bill.

"We expect Republicans to try and delay the business listed above. Once again, buckle up," spokeswoman Stacey Bernards wrote.

1. I am betting this recess is the time Larry Flynt drops some names.

2. Bush just announced he was going to keep congress in session until FISA fixed
"And so far, the Democrats in Congress have not drafted a bill I could sign. We've worked hard and in good faith with the Democrats to find a solution, but we are not going to put our national security at risk. Time is short. I'm going to ask Congress to stay in session until they pass a bill that will give our intelligence community the tools they need to protect the United States."

4. He is going to ask, he can't tell them or keep them in session
I hope they tell him to stick it up his butt. They are pulling the same old shit, trying to add last minute things in the hopes of getting them through with nobody reading them.

5. Bush will use the recess to screw up
someone or something. They should stay where they are. No need to recess as long as bush is president. We cannot afford to.
