1. Holy crap!
Thanks for posting this. I really had NO IDEA. Yeah, a million or so earths would fit in the sun. BUT... Phew.

I have to think on this for a few days. Very amazing. Antares.

2. I know the feeling
I found this a few days ago, and have not been able to make any big decisions since.

8. I haven't been to the Lew Rockwell site in ages.
Before I found DU, Lew was my every morning website.

Yeah, that kind of spacial perspective stuff is rather humbling.

6. I like the concept of infinity.
When I think about it, I can see that it has many dimensions. The distance at which a magnet no longer exerts a force of measurable effect on an object. Or the distance beyond which an ant can see. Or maybe even beyond the capability to think of something.

I've seen that second link before. Great perspective. We lose our perspective when we spend our days just living in our own little worlds. It's good to see beyond ourselves.

5. Antares now visible
Edited on Thu Aug-02-07 11:40 PM by StClone
In the southeast sky about 9:00 PM to 11:00 CST in Scorpio (my Sign). Antares is a big mofo but Rigel is a giant jewel of the winter constellation Orion.
