WHAT I BELIEVE, FROM BEN BOOTHE

Some Things that I Believe By Ben Boothe

When you are 57 years old, have written several books, and have been on radio, TV, magazines and newspapers all over the world, some people get curious. I've had a number of people ask me "Ben, what do you believe?" I tried to clearly state my beliefs in my 2004 book: FLOWERS FACING THE SUN. (Log on to: http://flowers.benboothe.com)

But before I embark on a business trip that will take me around the globe yet again, I wish to share a few things that I believe with you.

* I Believe: In the love and innocence of a child's eyes
* I Believe: In laughter and joy, especially with a friend
* I Believe: That when a person is kind to another, it is a sacred gift
* I Believe: That compassion is divine
* I Believe: That our most valuable treasures, are friends and loved ones
* I Believe: That work done well is a form of worship
* I Believe: That the most holy temples of worship, are in nature, not buildings
* I Believe: That we are defined by how we respond to challenges and difficulty
* I Believe: In music, flowers, art, poetry, enthusiasm, insight, intellect, and beauty
* I Believe: That every person should have the opportunity to achieve his/her potential
* I Believe: that each person must find his own way; we can only kindly point a suggestion and hope he does not get lost.
* I Believe: To life up another is to elevate your soul
* I Believe: That to give another a smile is to give light in a dark world
* I Believe: That religion is man's way of trying to bring order and logic out of chaos
* I Believe: That judgmental, rigid, greedy, arrogant, gossipy, bigoted, thoughtless, mean, selfish, manipulative, people reflect some
of the worst evils of existence
* I Believe: That all people have so much in common, that we are all seeking meaning, and enlightenment, albeit different path that we
are all brothers, thus we should act as brothers. It is my hope not to want to hurt or be hurt by another

My friend. I want to tell you THANK YOU, for being my friend, and being a witness to my life. And for that, I can say to those of you who are true; I believe in you. Ben B. Boothe March 31, 2005

Ben also has another book of which I have a few copies I would love to send out and share with you all (I have about 30 copies of the soft bound edition, send a pm and I'll send you a copy (free, just promise if you like it you will spread the love).

The Ideas of George W. Bush.

HUMEROUS BOOK ON IDEAS OF GEORGE W. BUSH RELEASED BY UNICORN PRESS, USA

Book makes excellent stocking stuffer gift

A few years ago, I was asked to host a breakfast at the Petroleum Club in Fort Worth. George W. Bush was the guest of honor, so I visited with him, and then introduced him.

I said: "Welcome to Fort Worth, even though the Bush administration (Bush Sr) just closed Carswell AFB." He stood up and smiled and said: "Oh that wasn't Dad, it was a member of the congress responsible. We can't control him. His name is Dick Cheney." ..............
..............................

THE IDEAS OF GEORGE W. BUSH (ISBN1-878162-09-8 Unicorn Press USA) as a book title, brings many responses. Some people giggle, some frown, some are really interested, but all are curious.

Ben Boothe, in his 8th published book, has released a timely volume, that in an efficient and economic style, says much about the ideas of this President. Boothe believes that Bush has aroused anger from Republicans, because his huge deficits reflect a philosophy that is not Republican. Perhaps not even American. His actions restricting individual rights also flashes in the face of traditional Republicans and the American way. Americans of all stripes seem to be uncomfortable in a war that was started based upon false information, and this war continues with no end in sight.

To date, over 40,000 U.S. troops have been wounded or hospitalized, 2,000 have been killed, and over 112,000 citizens of Iraq that are NOT soldiers (women, children, and aged people) have been killed. "George Bush's ideas do not reflect what the American People believe" says author/businessman, Ben Boothe. "The President of the USA has a global impact upon all the people of the world, they all count on him for ideas, vision and leadership. We need a president that fully understands his role for the United States, but for the world as well."

Whether you are Republican, Democrat, or simply an American, you will enjoy this book. If you are a "global citizen" it will bring a chuckle, and make a great gift for Christmas!

5. I always note, with amazement
that if you add up the five Waltons on this list it comes to 77.7 billion
Easily #1.

I estimate that Alice Walton, for example, saves about $25 million a year from the Bush tax cut of 2003. I also found that she donated over $2 million for his re-selection.

2. Kicking up for the late nite owls on DU. I hope Ben gets some DU attention.
I gave a couple of copies to the young gentleman taking care of my father in a secure Alzheimer's unit. (nursing home with locked doors)

A visit or two later the young attendant asked me if I could get him more copies, all his friends had loved it.

Peace

to where so many others are.

Fun fact, most of the nurses and attendants are minorities. The young man who wanted more is african-american.

If only, if only more could get out more and be involved more within their communities.

Thanks.

Please share if you can and if you would like a few of Ben's books to share just PM me and I'll send them to you, free of charge. All I ask is that you share them.

6. I'm begging DU'ers, please read what this man has to say, please.
If I'm wrong then tell me so. I think he is someone to listen to.

I admit a small degree of bias, my mentor at a Peace Center is one of Ben's supporters, my mentor is also an elected legislator.
