if they've thought about the fact that they would be forcing women to go through pregnancy, labor and delivery against their will, many of whom will be putting their lives at risk. It isn't like asking someone not to steal or do drugs.

I've never gotten a clear answer from the anti-choicers about that.

They might have really felt that the woman should be put in jail but didn't want to say it to a cameraman and a reporter.

I once put that question to a pro-lifer in a college class (evangelical college, too), and he said that if a woman died in a back-alley illegal abortion that it was God's justice and she got what she deserved. I followed that up with asking if a woman should get the death penalty for an abortion, and he said yes. Most everyone in the class was horrified by what he said, though there were a couple who agreed with him.

Ask the men. The women are more lenient, since they can see going through it themselves or their children facing that decision. The most rabid pro-lifers I know are all men.

One answers that the woman has already suffered and so no penalty is needed. And he asks if there is any crime for which there is no punishment in America
