27. Well that was quite the display, wasn't it...

...I found his parsing words over the security program(s) to be verrry interesting.

Basically it was obvious that he, like Gonzales, are simply dancing around direct answers. And the way they are dancing around it is to imply that people like Mueller -- you know, the actual director of the FBfriggin'I -- is unclear on the concept and being perhaps a little imprecise when he implies that Gonzales was, like, lying... Also it was obvious that there is a lot more to the surveillance program(s) than any of us are being let in on -- and that includes members of Congress. Also: if it was the need for secrecy that was keeping Alberto Gonzales from testifying in open session, then why, oh why did he never suggest that in his testimony? Why did he not say "let's meet in closed session to answer questions on this topic." Because he damned well doesn't want to answer questions on that topic, that's why.

Anyway. The WH Press Corpse did a pretty good job today but never went for the jugular, which is too bad. At the end Tony had them laughing when they were asking what to expect from an upcoming diplomatic meeting -- he said "I don't expect any deliverables..." -- the corpse yukked it up, isn't that cute, he said "deliverables". Gag me.
