My anti-war dream
(cross-posted from astrology forum)

A few nights ago, I had an interesting dream. It seemed very real when I was dreaming it, but I forgot about it and didn't remember until this morning, while looking at other posts about dreams in this forum.(the astrology forum)

I dreamed that everywhere, people were doing actions for peace. I saw three teenage men walking down a street, stopping passersby and talking to homeowners about the need to end the Iraq occupation, and for impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. Other people were walking around doing the same thing. Anti-war signs and posters were everywhere.

People were holding up signs at intersections, staging spontaneous sit-ins in supermarkets. People were walking out into stopped traffic calling for an end to the war.

It seemed as though the quiet Maryland suburbs where I live had turned into a 24/7 scene of creative protest by more people than I had ever imagined. All sorts of people, kids, teens, adults, the elderly, were engaged in vocal resistance to the war, because people had finally become so sick and tired of it and of Congress's refusal to take strong action to end it.

It was as though we had all woken up from a dream or stupor and tossed aside our futile anger and helplessness. And other people around America were waking up and doing similar things, and our message was finally getting through to the boneheads in Congress.

Honestly, I was sorry to wake up.
