Virtual politic-ing and campaigning
Everytime an election rolls around, which seems to now be perpetual according to out media, I think of how archaic our system of campaigning is in light of the technology now available.

Flying around on planes for brief appearances and meetings seems kinda nutz in this age of webcams and all.

Imagine if one politician vowed to go no where though would be able to communicate with millions of people on line for free. Just think what would be saved in terms of time and fuel.

I think I heard a while ago that Air Force One costs over 50 grand an hour to fly and it's probably 20-30% more by now, to say nothing of what it costs to haul *'s 1000 person security team around.

Why can't leaders hold more meetings and hearings virtually and save innumerable tankers full of fuel. . .?

I know people will say. . ."that's never going to happen, whistle stop campaigning is a tradition."

Still does anyone think it would be a good idea to upgrade the methodology based on the technology now available. . .?
