On July 23, CNN and YouTube are airing a Democratic presidential debate featuring questions from people like you. They have asked citizens to submit questions by video. The best ones will be aired and answered by candidates during the debate.
This is a great chance to elevate media ownership and consolidation as an issue for the next president of the United States. All candidates should have clear positions on the issues that will shape the future of media in America. But few have spoken out about media consolidation on the campaign trail.
Now's your chance to make media reform an issue in 2008.

Here are some questions you might ask:
* Do you support limits on media consolidation to prevent large companies from having too much control over what Americans see, hear and read?
* People of color own just 8 percent of the nation's radio stations and 3 percent of TV stations. How would you increase diversity in media ownership?
* Do you support programs such as expanded low-power FM radio services that would bring locally produced media to communities across the country?
* Should the FCC keep rules that prevent one company from owning too many media outlets in the same town?
