Lamest most obvious propaganda ever: NIE says al-Qaeda will uses its "contacts" in Iraq to attack US
more precisely, to attack our "homeland."

WASHINGTON - The terrorist network Al-Qaida will likely leverage its contacts and capabilities in Iraq to mount an attack on U.S. soil.

That's according to a new National Intelligence Estimate on threats to the United States.

The declassified key findings were obtained in advance of Tuesday's announcement by The Associated Press.

The report lays out a range of dangers - from al-Qaida to Lebanese Hezbollah to non-Muslim radical groups. It says these pose a "persistent and evolving threat" to the country over the next three years.

The findings focus most of their attention on the gravest terror problem: Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network.

The report makes clear that al-Qaida in Iraq could become a problem here.

The analysts said, "We assess that al-Qaida will probably seek to leverage the contacts and capabilities of al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI), its most visible and capable affiliate and the only one known to have expressed a desire to attack the homeland."

1. LOL! Gotta shore up that "fightin' them over there/over here" argument!
Because no one was fucking buying it. But now...it's OFFICIAL! Why would the REAL AQ need Iraq's foreign fighters? Aren't they busy being pummeled by the Sunnis and Shia "over there", anyway?

3. I don't know, the propaganda has been pretty lame and obvious for a long time.
I wonder if Junior has ever once used 'Iraq' in a sentence without including '911' and/or 'al Qaeda'.

5. The real wussies are the ones doing the deciding
They bravely decide to send other peoples' children into the fray.
