I've seen navy blue, white and grey - and mixtures of black and white/black and grey - at summer funerals. The only reason you notice Nancy Reagan is because most people in the picture wore dark colors -black, grey, blue or burgandy (Babs - blue, Susan Ford - burgandy).
In the Navy, Service Dress Whites are usually worn at summer burials at sea.

This is just a note to mention the wonderful statement that Betty Ford issued on Wednesday night, on the death of Lady Bird. Betty Ford, sadly, was not able to attend the funeral because of her own health; one of the last decent Republicans. "I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Lady Bird Johnson. She was a dedicated and devoted First Lady. Her beautification programs benefited the entire nation. She translated her love for the land and the environment into a lifetime of achievement.
