In my lifetime, we saw the likes of tonight's Bill Moyers Journal in prime time
on one or more major networks, and not just once.

A timid news media are no media at all.

:patriot: Bill Moyers.

5. Our service people are sitting ducks waiting for BushCo
to twist arms over oil profits.

That's all it is.

Nancy is wrong to allow this to continue. No political victory will redress this wrong.

24. Exactly, if anyone should be pissed it should really be the military....
many felt it was their patriotic duty to defend America in light of the "alleged" connections between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda, and Iraq's development of WMDs. Afterwards, they learned about all the lies, the changing reasons for us being in Iraq, and the manipulation of intelligence including intimidation tactics. Now many are feeling expendable and tired, not understanding the point of their mission.

Now, if anyone can get us out of this mess it might also be up to the military. A little questioning of authority might be considered defense of the Constitution.

29. The problem is 1) High ranking retirees now look forward
to jobs in the defense industry in some form and 2)the Pentagram has taken over most intelligence functions. So, they have control of the flow of information and no real incentive to make waves with it, as far as I can tell.

3. In the old days
we got some good stuff. I loved when all the networks broadcasted Nixon's impeachment.
May we see the likes of that soon!

4. If I had money, which I don't
I would buy a copy of the show and mail it to Nancy Pelosi, just to remind her of the oath she took and what the hell it means. I am going to email her and remind her anyway.

22. I don't think it's more outlets
but more 24-hour news outlets. That's a lot of time to fill, especially since they aren't willing to spend the money it takes to dig up real news, so they fill it with fluff. Then they discover that, gosh, Mer'kins like fluff! So they give us more fluff! And before you know it, it's hard to tell the difference between CNN and "Entertainment Tonight."

And newspapers, whose owners are even more protective of their profit margins, follow suit.

News organizations should never be publicly traded. It compromises their raison d' etre.

25. Amen, Oedi! News organizations, like big pharma and insurance companies
should NOT be publicly traded. Everything of REAL value gets buried under the quest for profits.

and NBC had regular "news-documentaries" too.. People used to know what was going on..but then there were only 3 networks and you watched what was on..

27. Tonight's show should be mandatory viewing for all Americans.
I like the idea of making this about much more than just Bush/Cheney. It's a great way to bring the GOP on board with impeachment -- because they sure as hell aren't gonna want Dems in the WH who have the powers that George and Dick have given to themselves.

Corporate media outlets are just fancy PR departments for their owners.
