Ladies...gentlemen too....tell me...how do you feel?
This is stated like it's fact at the University of Florida website. I am truly sick of this perversion of real people....real life....Well, yes, i am so much more fulfilled as a human being to have a couple of extra pounds sitting on my chest. It makes me feel like...i dunno..like a REAL woman.
Is bigger better? Breast surgery linked to boost in self-esteem and sexuality
Filed under Research, Health on Wednesday, March 21, 2007.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Women who undergo breast enlargement often see a sizable boost in self-esteem and positive feelings about their sexuality, a University of Florida nurse researcher reports.

Although plastic surgery should not be seen as a panacea for feelings of low self-worth or sexual attractiveness, it is important for health-care practitioners to understand the psychological benefits of these procedures, says Cynthia Figueroa-Haas, a clinical assistant professor at UF’s College of Nursing who conducted the study. The findings — which revealed that for many women, going bigger is better — appear in the current issue of Plastic Surgical Nursing.

“Many individuals, including health-care providers, have preconceived negative ideas about those who elect to have plastic surgery, without fully understanding the benefits that may occur from these procedures,” said Figueroa-Haas, who conducted the study for her doctoral thesis at Barry University in Miami Shores before joining the UF faculty. “This study provides the impetus for future studies related to self-esteem, human sexuality and cosmetic surgery.”

1. I'd be happy to get rid of some of mine
They're big and in the way. Not to mention my big fat ass.

We women are never satisfied with who we are on the outside until we are happy with who we are on the inside.

Cheers,

Nancy

4. That's it...happy on the inside. The media is always nonstop in making women feel
bad about themselves.

2. I must say that this doesn't surprise me very much.
After all, look which journal is publishing this report: "Plastic Surgical Nursing."

I would expect them to have a slant in this direction.

I also expect that their results are true for some women....mind you, I say some.

Not for all, or maybe even most...

Some women's self-esteem is tied up in their breasts, unfortunately.

I am not one of them, and this doesn't bother me.

5. I've been 36C since puberty
But I think I could stand to move to a D cup. But I'm in denial and refuse to buy a D bra.

So yeah - never thought I needed anything bigger.

In general - what's held up as the cultural idea is something that no one could ever achieve without surgery. Why do you think so many of us have eating disorders?

6. Who did that survey, pray tell?
If it was the team of Professor Slobbo McTitlover, Dr. Wan Aghrab-Ehrbuhb, and lab assistant Ophelia Breast, I would urge you to look askance at those findings.

9. Hey, my eyes are up here.
This is a male's opinion based on the behavior of his sweetie. She didn't have enlargement surgery, rather, she had . . . umm, equalizing surgery.

The vast majority of females have breast of different sizes. In many cases it's really hard to tell (gotta look closely). In other cases it is significant, or the nipples don't line up. Despite the fact that nearly every female can claim this variance of form, our society continues to push unreasonable ideals on us, including the perfectly aligned and formed boobs of the "photo-worthy."

My sweetie did in fact experience a boost in self-esteem and became more comfortable with her bod. For me, personally, it wasn't an issue (as long as everything WORKS, I don't particularly care!), although I will say that I am happy that she now forgoes some of her more "coverup" clothing.

It's really a personal decision. The thing I can't understand, however, are the over-the-top boob jobs that result in freakish hugeness. I'll never forget when Olympic skater Tonya Harding, who frequented a coffee shop near my work, elected to have a significant enlargement. She was (at the time) a small-framed gal, fresh from the skating world (this was just after the crazy whacking Nancy Kerrigan thing), and her new boobies were so large I thought she might fall over!

Gee, I thought I'd be ranting about Rove or Cheney, and instead I get to talk about boobs! I love DU!

10. To each his or her own. I don't tell other people how to live their lives, and I expect the same
courtesy in return.

Judging by the amount of penile enlargement spam I get, the idea that size increases in specifically targeted body parts will confer happiness and fulfillment is not specific to any gender. Funny, it's just never occurred to me. Either I'm self-satisfied to a degree that is apparently out of character for a large number of men, or.. well, let's just leave it at that.

If I was going to permanently alter any part of my body, I'd get Lasik.

16. I know where you're coming from. BUT, this does not seem to be the
prominance that breasts play for women. Almost every time women are shown in movies, they are shown for their breasts. Well, ladies and gents, here's so and so...yes, and if you can now take your eyeballs off her breasts...here she is...

11. i am not well endowed and having surgery to make me so would be useless
because honestly feeling inadequate because of my smaller chest is not an issue, ok my hips--yeah i'd like them to be smaller.

12. Ladies, you're being sold a bunch of BS by the installers.
Small, Medium and Large are ALL equally sexy, why would YOU want to put foreign objects in your natural body? Most of the time THEY don't even look close to real, which is a BIG turnoff.

15. I support body modification as self expression,
whether it be through tattooing, surgery, piercing, drugs...

In each case the modifications express something inside the person. Good or bad, they can be useful guides for others. I would not approach a man with white power tattoos on his face (unless I had to for work), and likewise I would not approach a woman with plastic bags sewn into her chest.

22. That's fine, I don't know about reduction,
but if cancer survivors are more comfortable with a prosthetic replacement, power to them.

Replacing a thing of natural beauty with a thing of artificial ugliness is what I'm talking about.

23. the reduction most times is for back issues, my friend was a 37 FF and she had
permanent grooves in her shoulders from bra straps and her chest size limited things she do comfortably, she was reduced to a D and she's actually living without pain.

21. Therapy for the self-esteem issues would be cheaper
...and better.

My girlfriend's sister had a boob job. I watched her doing her exercises once and they didn't even MOVE...NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT. It was not attractive to me...the Military Breast...unmoving and saluting.

That said, I believe, as a feminist, your body belongs to you, ergo you can do with it as you please. Still, I rather see a woman deal with the self-esteem issue.
