Clips of the press conference on KO a few minutes ago,
and a cnn reporter asked Bush what evidence he could present that those bombing innocent civilians in Iraq are the same "folks" that attacked us on 9/11.
1. anyone hear him present any such evidence?
2. can we infer by what the president said that Bush himself bombed us on 9/11?

1. link and quote from his press conference today.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070712-5.html
"mrbush: The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th, and that's why what happens in Iraq matters to the security here at home.

So I've been realistic about the consequences of failure. I have been realistic about what needs to happen on the ground in order for there to be success. And it's been hard work, and the American people see this hard work. And one of the reasons it is hard work is because on our TV screens are these violent killings, perpetuated by people who have done us harm in the past. And that ought to be a lesson for the American people, to understand that what happens in Iraq and overseas matters to the security of the United States of America.

Yes, ma'am.

Q But, sir, on that point, what evidence can you present to the American people that the people who attacked the United States on September the 11th are, in fact, the same people who are responsible for the bombings taking place in Iraq? What evidence can you present? And also, are you saying, sir, that al Qaeda in Iraq is the same organization being run by Osama bin Laden, himself?

mrbush: Al Qaeda in Iraq has sworn allegiance to Osama bin Laden. And the guys who had perpetuated the attacks on America -- obviously, the guys on the airplane are dead, and the commanders, many of those are either dead or in captivity, like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. But the people in Iraq, al Qaeda in Iraq, has sworn allegiance to Osama bin Laden. And we need to take al Qaeda in Iraq seriously, just like we need to take al Qaeda anywhere in the world seriously. 2. The only "evidence" he presented was saying "they've taken an
oath to Osama bin Laden." If that oath is anything like the one YOU took to defend the Constitution, we know just how much that's worth ...

3. Didn't Sara Taylor mention yesterday that
she swore an oath to the chimpenfeuhrer? She had to be reminded that she swore an oath to uphold the constitution not the chimp. Unless she really did swear an oath to protect the chimp.
