26 percent
How low will he go?

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/07/12/26-percent-3/

26 percent:

President Bush’s approval rating according to a new Harris poll, down from a high of 88 percent shortly after 9/11. Cheney’s approval rating is just 21 percent.

1. I've got to think under 20% is possible..........
The AWOL/Moron won't leave Iraq. It'll continue until he leaves office. The Republic Party will continue to support him and thwart efforts to disengage. There's normally a hard core 25 to 28% support for any Republic Party president, but I think with 18 more months of war, he'll slip under 20%.

2. I think his actual supporters are far less than that.
There's a certain number of people in this country that just really don't care about politics in the slightest. It's not that their dumb or cruel, it's just that they're essentially divorced from society, kind of like hermits. So when people call them on the phone and ask them if they like the president, a certain percentage will simply say yes just to get along. And that skews the results.

I think his approval rating among mentally healthy adults who pay attention to the news is in the low single digits.

3. But it doesn't MATTER to them ... they're not running again
That's what's so infuriating about all this -- previous presidents GAVE A DAMN about their approval ratings, either because they were running again, or they had a hand-picked heir apparent who needed their coattails. THESE GUYS DON'T GIVE A SHIT! They can sink to single digits and they'll still be just as deaf to the cries of the American people. Truly *maddening* ...

4. I can't see it getting much lower, these are the "dead enders"
Like my dad, these people's beliefs are so ass backward they will support him no matter what. 25% of our country are just straight up wackjobs.

6. My dad too
I just asked Mom today if Dad was still gung-ho for Bush.
She kind of sighed and said, "Yeah.." I asked her what
flavor Kool-Aid he drinks.

5. This is the third poll to have him at 26% in the last month
I think it will go lower.
