Kerry: "Are you ready now, or will it take another thousand?"
On CSPAN 2 now, talking about withdrawal - how his withdrawal bill last summer was mocked by MSM, Dems and Repubs and got only 13 votes because according to the naysayers "we weren't ready yet." He says 1000 soldiers have died since then and asks angrily if we're "ready" yet or if 1000 more have to die.

Good stuff, turn it on or check out the live feed.

Why isn't somebody stalking Dan Abrams to get this on the air instead of breaking water mains and teen-agers playing footsie. Seems like a lot better use of ones time than harrassing our best liberal politicians.

5. WEL - I loved it when he talked about how the repugs are always
bashing the Dems for talking about timelines, and then talked about how
the report from Petreaus that is coming out in Sept is the timeline that
the Repugs are all waiting for.

My neighbors probably heard me cheering.

11. Kerry's so agile that he renders the Republican pro-surge droids completely
obsolete.

He's more presidential than nearly anybody alive and we'd be a whole hell of a lot better off if he were in the White House instead of the little monkey who cheated him to win it instead.

14. Nightjock, hello to you. Thank you for your comment.
If ol' Sam Ervin were still around there'd be a throrough looking-into after that Ohio election.

Wow did Ken Blackwell stink up the place on that one!

I love listening to John Kerry on the floor of the Senate.

And I think he will win re-election by a LANDSLIDE percentage next time. We need to hear his voice on the problems we face as a country, and we need his brains in the Senate. I'd still take him for the top job in a heartbeat, but I don't decide History. If it's the Senate where he makes his stand, I'm there with him all the way.

34. Nicely put, madokie. "From the humility to the humanity" is a
terrific phrase. I'm keeping this great thread by WildEyedLiberal which includes your great post. I love that phrase.

And you are quite right that it is the caption beneath any picture of John Kerry.

He's a junior senator but for me he'll always be Mr. President.

18. I just wanted to tear myself away from the diapers and bible battering
and say that I still do and have always loved and respected John Kerry. He is one of the hardest working senators we have, especially when it comes to Iraq and he keeps me up to date with e mails from the senate floor on an almost daily basis for which I am thankful. He is very presidential, indeed, to say the least.

20. I totally agree that is one of the hardest working senators.
And it's easy for him to come off as presidential being that he, you know, (whispers) is the elected president.

For even suggesting that we should pull our troops out of Iraq.

How did Boehner get re-elected last year, in the first place?

30. Boehner, who cried on the floor a few months ago
has no business calling anyone a wimp. He was also the guy who pleaded that the dems treat the minority like "they wanted to be treated when they were the minority". He's beyond wimp, he's a Chickenhawk pussy, calling a decorated Vet a wimp. Thats hilarious.

"Each member really has to ask themselves in these next days, what is our responsibility to our soldiers and to our country? We hear people in cloakrooms privately saying it's wrong. But it doesn't translate into votes. How are you going to feel in September if you finally wind up saying, 'Well I think the policy is broken now?' " -- John Kerry

Along with a nice writeup:

Thanks for all the K&Rs everybody - we need to bring the troops home NOW, not September, and we need to let Kerry know we're behind him - maybe then some of his colleagues will start paying attention.
