Things that piss me off
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 03:45 AM by Mythsaje
Illegal wars.
Ignorant racist assholes.
Ignorant sexist assholes.
People who just don't listen.
That damned eye-roll smiley.
Kids who use "gay" or "fag" as an insult.
Being interrupted when I'm writing.
Being rushed.
Being taken advantage of.
Being mocked.
Being called a liar.
Being ripped off.

Fundamentalists of ALL stripes. I don't know and neither do you.
Thieves.
Guys who beat up their wives or girlfriends.
guys (or gals) who beat up their kids.
People who put down their kids.
People who jokingly try to give away their kids (It ain't funny to someone who lost contact with his own for 6 years).
People who don't leave others their otherness.
Rabid drug warriors.
People with sexual issues who project them onto other people.
People who couldn't even find compassion in a dictionary, much less in their hearts.
People who think children could EVER be a "necessary casualty of war" and don't really mind when they are.
People who abuse animals.
People who don't spay or neuter their pets if they don't have a valid reason to breed them (like breeding specifically to improve the breed).
People who buy dogs they don't understand and then dump them on rescue because they're fucking morons.
People who could use a little humility but don't bother with it.
Pretention. "Oh, I only read LITERARY novels." Bleh. Whatever.

Being right when I'd dearly like to be wrong. Like about damn near everything surrounding this administration. Would've much preferred to be wrong. Wasn't.

The irony about this is that I rarely actually get "pissed off." I'm rarely pushed past irritated. Good thing too. I scare MYSELF when I get pissed off. Much better for my peace of mind to maintain a very long fuse.

Though if I'd've been able to catch Romney strapping his dog to the top of his car, I'd've probably done something irrevocable. Probably wouldn't have regretted it much though.

On edit: An addition to the list.

Doomsayers. Hah!

1. That's great ...
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 04:06 AM by MatrixEscape
So I can add you to my list of people who list everything that pisses them off and do so in public without even considering that their huge, outspoken arrow of demarcation points to nothing more than an exaggeratd form of narcissistic self-centered angst without much outlet, resolve, compassion, empathy, or even a smidgen of realization that:

1) The Universe does not revolve around them, no matter what the culture or Mom and Dad said.
2) They are actually a product of everything they are hating and in rebellion while expecting other people to really take that seriously and give a flying fuck.
3) Have no outlet for their frustrations, hence they post purely subject matter as if it is noteworthy or unique.

Well, you get my point.

Enjoy the hermetic seals of your counter-idealistic, abstractions, i.e., unquestioned, but safe boundaries that imprison you in your own, sequestered world of rejection after rejection. Saying yes to life can be frightening.

I get more uplifting verbiage from informed those "doomsayers" who pack a punch with information that is both informed and verifiable.

Enjoy your little show. We all need some outlet and catharsis ... especially when we truly believe the arbitrary boundaries we, by force or choice, surround ourselves with. They are just mutable wisps of smoke and gas to me. Do you ever see yourself as the product of the culture you rebel against, or is it just me?

Speaking of pretention.

Ding! Ding!

We have a winner.

Oooh. And mockery too.

Two for the price of one.

3. I choose just one. Being rushed
What is it with having everything happen YESTERDAY. Bullshit I say, I'll take my own good time.

Rushing is a subtle form of bullying. Setting the time frame. And who the fuck has a patent on time? No bastard.

Rushing is subtly imposed on kids through computer games where a task must be completed in X number of minutes or you loose life, points, cred. Rushing means not stopping to think of the consequences, it's a lie that it hones the brain and actions. Cryptic crosswords and helping others is the way to do that. Rushing means nothing more that barging your way through life with no time to consider the effect of your actions.

People who rush are a danger on the roads, a danger at work. Rushing brings instant gratification but no long lasting benefits.

No wonder everyone is being urged to rush.

4. Especially annoying
to someone who's trying to live willfully, to consider his actions in respect to the bigger picture. And you're definitely right about it being a subtle form of bullying. I rarely put up with it. Usually it just makes me dig my heels in and dawdle all the more.

I'm such a pain that way.

5. I agree.
I am totally amused.

I don't exist. This is not happening. There is nowhere to go from here. That's my philosophy and it is not subject to debate, subjectively.

All Good Buddha Smiles to your living willfully, (read: will to power). It is a wonderful self-deception, but not all that unique in a rebellious sort of way.

Have you ever looked into the dichotomy of determinism versus free will?

I don't suggest you go there unless your heels wear down from the friction of what they dig into long enough. Life has a way of providing quicksand for your cherished delusions in ways that you have not yet imagined. Yet, they can prove to be kind and benevolent teachers.

Be a pain as I am. See the correlation with pleasure.

8. Oh man
have you escaped the matrix or become one with it.

The minute I see bullshit like 'dichotomy of determinism versus free will', I want to pick you up and shake you awake.

10. Good question.
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 05:40 AM by MatrixEscape
I am glad that you were inspired to ask it. Really!

Pick me up, if you can. Shake me. Did that do the trick for you? Should I imagine something like that and respond?

Yes, there is a serious dichotomy there, but it is not one that can be approached at all with any seriousness if you do not plunge with intent into it. I am sorry to reveal that to you and I am not a reformer and have no intent to convert you to any way of seeing things.

It is simply a truth that you either question to the point that you want to approach, taste, and chew, to see hot it digests, or it is a totally ridiculous proposition not worthy of anything but a chastising remark with implications of a violent method to awaken someone whom you might assume is sleeping.

I do like your question and imbibe it with an escapee's delight! Have I escaped the Matrix or become one with it? Well, how would you know since nobody can tell you what the Matrix is? You already know that you have to see it for yourself! Have I become one with it? Well, now, that would be telling.

Be seeing you!

14. In my forty years
I've learned one thing...you all too often get exactly what you expect. Live as a fatalist, live fatally. Live with awareness of the way your actions affect the world around yourself, live a fuller life.

6. So ...
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 04:57 AM by MatrixEscape
You comprehend that the past and the future are merely symbolic abstractions and functional extensions of consciousness?

Well, that applies equally to what we call here and now. Find one, concrete and certain here and now and be sure to PM it to me before it gets away. Facsimiles or representations need not apply.

Yikes, that was all that was left. Ummm ... sorry. Yet, enjoy your here and now as much as you possibly can, it is one idea/concept/symbolic representation that you can seem to momentarily grasp and give validity to with the mind.

It is all good, is it not? That is, whatever it is, or is not. Sorry, I can't find the supposed tangible s implied in mind fodder.

7. Welcome to the real world.
But I still, even at my age, get up and wonder what will go on today. I am always sure that there is a pony in the room with all that shit.

9. Know what pisses me off?
Arrogant assholes who feel the need to ridicule anyone with whom they disagree. Anybody here like that?

11. Welcome ...
to the desert of the real!

Oh, and do you feel better now after performing a rather arrogant display in order to relieve yourself of too much, pent up, existential angst?

Can we talk about how and why you feel ridiculed and how those ideas became an obsession in your idea of a mind that does not, in any concrete or factual way, exist?

Really. Who gave you the mindset where you have to view your world from that dominant perspective and then, support it with a desire for someone else to support your indoctrinated and compelling concepts in order to make them somehow more real or valid?

If you desire consensus for your subjective, narcissistic views, is that not contradictory from the get go? I would hope for a much stronger, more influential, and compelling argument in that sense.

Right now, the appeal for peer acknowledgment signifies nothing more than a form of uncertainty or self-esteem issues begging for nothing more than enabling.

13. I am sorry!
I thought you what they call an "adult" these days. Silly me. I wasn't trying to make fun of the mentally challenged or of youth in any way. Please forgive that! I had no idea of about your condition.

In that case (which was heavy and you had to rest it) ... Brilliant! You are a very special person and your ability to post an animated gif is like, way Merry Prankster and full of deep symbolic meaning there, kiddo! Good for you.

I will certainly contemplate that goofy face, the protruding, wiggling tongue, and the spraying saliva that all were probably meant to represent your own self image in a cartoonish way.. Keep up the great work and enjoy the taste of the food that the matrix feeds you. It is just as good as anything we call real, 'cept different.

Now, no more wasting your "special" time on the cool Internets, for me. You must simply be amazed by it all and I wouldn't want to spoil your jubilant fun as you post your way into giggly spasms. You clearly have a right to be pissed off about so many things without people like me interfering with your hoots and hollers. Have a cookie or two, maybe some chocolate milk, and be sure to watch some UTUBE! Yay!
