I have a dimb question. I just received an email from John Kerry.

He was talking about how uspet he is that this Senate voted against cloture on Webb's amendment to protect our military and five them proper time off between deployments.

The very bottom of this email was a small box that said "Paid for by John Kerry for Senate."

WHY is an informative email from a Senator not just sent via his Senate email system and paid our of the Senate budget? I don't recall seeing that kind of qualifier on other political info emails I've received, but only on the ones looking for money. What gives?
