On the political spectrum, where is TIME magazine ?
If you had a Communist publication representing the zero point on the scale, and a bona fide fascist publication representing the 100 on the scale, how would you rate it ?

The reason I ask, is because on another board I'm on, a poster states that TIME is written by the DNC bwahahahahahaha I had to correct her but my knowledge is limited.

1. I haven't read TIME for a while, but I always thought it was pretty neutral.

5. Which only goes to show how far rightwards "neutral" has shifted. ;-) (NT)

2. Maybe the DLC... I'd put it at about 70 on your scale.
For comparison, I'd put Fox News at 80 and Limbaugh at 85, CBS News at 60, Air America at 50, Pacifica at 40...

3. There are no big liberal national media news magazines
Every single one of the big time media zines is corporate elite themed.

4. Put it on your scale somewhere between the DLC and the RNC.
Put it on your scale somewhere between the places
you'd put the DLC and the RNC.

Time is Corporatist and in favor of the status
quo, as long as AOL Time Warner is making money
off of it.

7. Someone, maybe Media Matters, maybe somebody else
(cut me some slack here, I'm OLD) put out an article about a year and a half ago on a survey of all the opinion pages in Time over a period of several years. It found that the opinion pages were 100% slanted to the far right, while the actual reporting in the magazine was only slight to the right of center.

Time used to run occasional essays by Barbara Ehrenreich many years ago. Those stopped about the time of the witch hunt and impeachment and the opinion pages shifted far right.

6. It moved way to the right in the 90's IMO
I cancelled my subscription before 2000 but my frequent doctor visits show a distinctive rightward tilt and many sins of omission as well. I'd give it about a 75 or 80.
