OMG! Do you know what Wolf Blitzer's real name is?!
It's "Wolf".

The "Leslie" thing was an Al Franken joke, and it's getting a little old.

2. According to Wikipedia,
you're correct: it is Wolf.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_Blitzer

Interesting how widespread the "Leslie" misconception spread. I admit that I had no clue (until now) that it was false.

Everything else is ok, but on that issue he's biased.

30. Blivet
blivet /bliv'*t/ 1. An intractable problem.
2. A crucial piece of hardware that can't be fixed or replaced if it breaks.
3. A tool that has been hacked over by so many incompetent programmers that it has become an unmaintainable tissue of hacks.
4. An out-of-control but unkillable development effort.
5. An embarrassing bug that pops up during a customer demo.
6. In the subjargon of computer security specialists, a denial-of-service attack performed by hogging limited resources that have no access controls (for example, shared spool space on a multi-user system).
This term has other meanings in other technical cultures; among experimental physicists and hardware engineers of various kinds it seems to mean any random object of unknown purpose (similar to hackish use of frob). It has also been used to describe an amusing trick-the-eye drawing resembling a three-pronged fork that appears to depict a three-dimensional object until one realises that the parts fit together in an impossible way.

21. Was he raised by nomadic Lakota Indians?
Edited on Mon Feb-05-07 04:20 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
He probably had a dream quest where as an adolescent boy living among the plains Sioux, he went off on his own, weaponless and wearing nothing but a loincloth and mocassins for days in the wild, eating and drinking nothing until he saw the image of a great wolf of power and wisdom and took the name as his own.

And now he has incarnated the dream quest and has become that great wolf of power and wisdom, so resolute and fearless, that we all look up to. Just look how brave Wolf was during the Cheney interview.

22. Thanks for the info.
I really appreciate you saying that. Yes, that "Leslie" stuff was getting a bit tired.

I can, however, still comment that the sound of his voice is worse than listening to a thousand fingers scraping a thousand blackboards.
