Are we more than tools in an endless assembly line of consumption? Are we still alive? Where is our outrage? Where is our passion? How much will we allow to happen in our name?
Good questions! It is about values. No, I don't mean the veneer of values that works to obscure prejudice, selfishness, and hypocrisy; I am talking about what really matters - like having a planet that is primarily green and habitable, like demanding that our leaders yield to the rule of law, like demanding that our society stands for policies that are tough on crime and terrorism without sacrificing being smart on crime and terrorism, like not sleeping until every child in this country is safe from our own selfishness and apathy. If you want to fight a war, fight a war on that.
