my worst nightmare
Freddy boy gets the rep nod; bush finally withdraws troops. Suddenly the America that elected Reagan gets short-term memory loss, thinks Fred is the reincarnation of smilin' ronnie, and Thompson wins. Maybe they even gain a couple of senate seats.

Now not only did you not impeach while you had the chance, you can't even stimulate prosecutions once they're out of office. Basically, you screwed the pooch. Snoozed through the next 500 days thinking "we have a lock on the WH." And now the same cabal that brought you Nixon, Reagan, and the bush boys has another four years to continue eviscerating the constitution.

This is now my worst nightmare. Four years ago my worst nightmare was that bush would get another term. I thought it highly unlikely.

2. Look for frequent showings of "Hunt for Red October" around
Well probably October.

14. I wish. I'm still waiting for the plan.
Great quote though.

16. (The original quote is what I *ALWAYS* hear when I see Fred T.)
(I've never watched Law and Order, so all I know of
him as an actor is his role in The Hunt for Red October.)

4. More than a few voted for bush because of a mistaken belief
that it was up to him to "finish the job" in Iraq. Iraq will be in even worse shape in 2008 than it is now. Fred isn't going to get elected.

5. I Like Your Nightmare a Bit Better Than Mine. You at Least Get Some Troops Out of Iraq
I'm more concerned about the the false-flag-terra-attack-leading-to-war-with-Iran scenario.
Now that's a real nightmare. There wouldn't be any election, just Bush/Cheney forever
and war, war, and more war.

7. oh, I have that one too
aside from the further travesty of more unnecessary war and killing - a not insignificant 'aside' - it might be preferable. The backlash to a suspension of elections, full scrapping of the already-tattered constitution, might cause a pendulum swing.

But if they lull the public back to complacency, they continue on that course, and like the frog that does not know the water temperature is rising until it is boiled to death, *we won't know to leap out of the water.

*'we' meaning the collective -er - uh - intelligence? of the American people.

6. We will need to keep some things about Fred
in the forefront. He lobbied for a pro-abortion group in the not too distant past.

He gave Nixon's people the heads-up on the testimony about the Nixon taping system. That was a shitty thing to do, and the public should hear about it loudly and often.

And, he has lymphoma. My aunt lived a relatively normal life with lymphoma. It stayed in remission a long time, and she was able to teach. But it did come back.

We don't know enough about cancer. We don't know if stress could cause a recurrence.

One thing we do know: If one of the Democratic hopefuls had lymphoma, the media would be screaming it from the rooftops.

9. Here's mine...after November election, before December vote ratification
a really big, nasty snowstorm/ice storm hits. The electric grid fails across unprecedented portions of the U.S. Disaster? Well, it's not clearly defined in Bush's Executive Order for the President to take charge of all aspects of government, so...

12. yeah, that would be 'convenient' for them
a 'natural' disaster that can't be pinned on them, as excuse to invoke his 'emergency powers.'

A way to turn up the heat less drastically, boil us a little slower.
