If Al Gore doesn't run, but wins the nom via write-in votes,

do you think he would accept? I'm betting he would.
Is it worth lauchning a write-in campaign? Or, if he decides not to run should we respect his wishes.
I'm thinking if we launch a write-in campaign now, maybe he will ANSWER THE CALL and throw his hat in.
Any thoughts?

will need to give specifics, but I read here earlier that the write in option is something of the past. It is a very very remote possibility or is not allowed under the current convention rules.

4. There's no way a write-in campaign would work. It would, however, fuck up the

eventual decision making process for the ultimate nominee, by pulling away votes from that person, perhaps splitting the vote, and letting the weakest candidate prevail.

If he wants to run, he'll run. No reason to run too soon, in his case. That is what people do when they want to get their name and face and ideas out there.

We already KNOW what Al is about.

If he runs, he has my vote. But I'll let him make the call...

It would take a 50 state campaign and he would have to average 30% in each state as a a write-in.....it would never happen.... It would be eaqsier to work to get him on the ballot in each state

Now if he won iowa as a writie-in it would be interesting..but the problem is it would be well past the filing deadline in nearly all thefirst 30 primaries because they are so front-loaded.

you don't go into a booth and pull a lever, so technically you can't have a write in. The Iowa caucuses are public events, where people gather in groups in large rooms and try to convince people to join their group. They then decide on delegates to the state convention based on a pro-rata formula using the sizes of the groups. there are 1800 locations in Iowa, you'd need to convince people in each location to support a guy who isn't even running for president, would be tough.

The republicans use secret ballots in Iowa, the Dems use the group method.

11. He's running. It occured to me while watching Live Earth. He KNOWS he

cannot affect policy without being president (sworn in this time) and work with other world leaders.All he has to do is put his name on the primary ballots.

I see it as Hillary's to lose, but it's Al Gore's TO TAKE. Watch him.
