When he's pulling one of his wingnut dastardly scams, he plays SO innocent. Back when the Rethugs were pimping for Miguel ESTRADA, and the Dem SHUMER brigade had finally broken the Poppy scam of nominating minority wingnuts, HATCH was on the air pouting, "How can the Democrats be against a MINORITY member? Aren't they supposed to be FOR minorities?"

Let me break it down: Ever since Poppy BUSH nominated Clarence THOMAS, the Dems were embarrassed and hamstrung, worried about that "anti-minority" dilemma. There was never any dilemma. The bottom line is: You're a WINGNUT? I don't CARE whether you are a puppet, a houseboy, or whatever. YOU'RE A WINGNUT!!1 That's it. This is the ultimate NON-racist position. It was the Rethugs who were, as usual, taking the RACIST position (vote for him BECAUSE he's a minority).

That was the same thing wingnut Ruben NAVARRETTE did in backing Alberto GONZALES--twice. The first time was in the confirmation hearings. NAVARRETTE claimed that Beto should be confirmed withOUT any heavy questioning, just BECAUSE he's a minority. NAVARRETTE swore that AFTER Beto was confirmed N. would be watching him like a hawk and would be the first to castigate him if he screwed up. Yeah-right. So when Beto was under the gun, NAVARRETTE said Beto was being harrassed by WHITE LIBERAL MALES. Yeah, NAVARRETTE is out there watching Beto like O.J. tracking down the real killers on the golf course.
