What do you think about the "Counter-Media"?
Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 11:10 AM by ck4829
There seems to be a media movement to spread untruths and outright delusions, and it seems to be working. I have called this movement the Counter-Media, I am willing to bet other people have noticed it too, and have given it names of their own.

Here in the reality based community:
Valerie Plame was a Covert Operative
And There is a Civil War in Iraq

Yet we have plenty of people who believe that:
Valerie Plame was not a Covert Operative (Some even say she just worked behind a desk her entire career)
And that everything in Iraq is peachy-keen

Debate is one thing, however, with some things there is no "other side" to the story. It's insane that Plame's status of whether or not she is a covert operative or not is even up to debate when it has been proven time and time again that she was indeed a covert operative. This is only one of the results of the Counter-Media, we see it controlling and providing cover for Global Warming, the Federal Government's response to Hurricane Katrina, the lead-up to the Iraq War, and many other things as well.

Do you think the Counter-Media presents a problem? Do you think that there are ways that we can oppose this movement?

2. I think they're flopsweat desperate Republicans!!!
They're still a problem, but less of one than they used to be.

They're suffering from "Boy Who Cried Wolf-itis" I'm afraid. Every day, fewer and fewer people believe their bullshit.
