OK. Enough Already!
I have had it with this arrogant above-the-law, make-up-the-law as you go along administration.

Seriously, how much more are we going to lay down and take? We need to call, fax, email, write letters to let these idiots in office to let them know what we think. To let them know that it is their jobs that are on the line.

They don't want to indict? They will be replaced.
They don't want to impeach? They will be replaced.
They turn a blind eye to torture? They will be replaced.
They choose not to abide by the Geneva Convention? They will be replaced.
They don't want to grow a backbone and enforce Constitutional law? They will be replaced.

Really folks, I am just an old lady approaching Social Security, but I am fed up, and ready to march on Washington. This crap has to stop. And if our elected officials won't stand up and do their job, then we need to let them know we are not going to take anymore.

The last straw: CHENEY: "VP OFFICE NOT PART OF EXECUTIVE BRANCH"

Waxman targets Cheney on classified docs
By Klaus Marre
June 21, 2007

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) has set his sights on Vice President Dick Cheney, saying he is trying to exempt his office from an executive order that aims to protect classified information.

According to Waxman, Cheney’s office blocked the National Archives’ Information Security Oversight Office from an inspection, arguing that it “does not consider itself an ‘entity within the executive branch.’”

When the Information Security Oversight Office appealed to the Department of Justice, Cheney’s office reacted by trying to abolish it altogether, Waxman said in a letter sent to Cheney Thursday.

“I question both the legality and wisdom of your actions,” the lawmaker wrote.

Waxman then pointed to security breaches in Cheney’s office, such as the guilty plea of a staff member who gave classified information to people in the Philippines and the office’s role in the leaking of the name of a CIA operative.

t would appear particularly irresponsible to give an office with your history of security breaches an exemption from the safeguards that apply to all other executive branch officials,” Waxman said.

The oversight committee chairman wants Cheney to provide information on why he does not believe his office is bound to the executive order on protecting classified information and whether it has claimed in other instances not to be an entity within the executive branch.

In addition, Waxman is seeking information as to whether Cheney’s office has sought to retaliate against the Information Security Oversight Office, asking for information on why Cheney requested its elimination.

2. So what does that mean? You've had enough?
What are you going to do? Really. What are you going to do?

I don't mean to sound nasty here. But telling us isn't going to change things. Actions are necessary. So what actions are you going to take?

4. I am going to keep calling my Senators; Lugar and Bayh.
I will go to Washington if I can get a couple hundred thousand to go with me.

I marched in the 60's, I can do it again. A bit slower, however. :hippie:

This country applauds overthrowing corrupt governments of other countries,
and yet; we can't seem to get the attention of our own.

5. I'm in agreement with those who say no $ until concrete results. I don't want
benchmarks, I want trials!

6. I'm with you.
Just remember to keep voting. We got a foot in the door last time, but that just pushed the Democratic old-timers into positions of power. Keep putting aggressive people into Congress. The timid Old Guard will get the message soon enough.
